Richie had previously sent the Foo Fighters frontman the same gift
When Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg last year, an injury that meant his band had to pull out of their Glastonbury Festival headline slot, Lionel Richie sent the singer a basket of muffins as a sympathetic gesture. Now, Grohl has returned the favour.
The two artists recently appeared at Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood for a SiriusXM Town Hall interview when Grohl recalled the incident. “It was the biggest muffin basket I have ever seen in my entire life,” he remembered.
Grohl went on to surprise Richie with a muffin basket of his own. “That’s half the size of the muffin basket you gave me!” the Foos frontman said.

Following recent rumours that Dave Grohl could be set to go solo, producer Butch Vig has hinted that the singer is indeed working on new music but that it won’t be under the Foos name.
Vig told The Daily Beast that he and Grohl were planning on meeting up later this year to work on new songs Grohl had been writing, but said there were “no plans for more Foos”. The band had previously suggested that they would embark on a hiatus.
