Foo Fighters man reportedly spoke to a fan about his 'new record'
In March, producer Butch Vig suggested that Grohl was working on new music and that it wouldn’t be under the Foo Fighters name.
Now a fan – and fellow musician – named Damien Curry has uploaded a photo with Grohl in which he says that the pair chatted about “our kids, his new record, producing”. See that picture beneath.
NME has contacted Curry for more details about the chat. A press representative of Grohl has declined to comment.
Grohl has previously denied any intention of going solo despite his band hinting that they would embark on a hiatus following 2014’s ‘Sonic Highways’.
Not a bad way to start the day. I don’t ever really care too much for “famous” musicians, but my close friends know how gangster I am about Nirvana and this guy! #DaveGrohl Talked about our kids, his new record, producing…man…what a kool kat. The 12 year old in me just lost his shit. #Nirvana #FooFighters #rocknroll #music

Meanwhile, Grohl’s mother has interviewed many other famous musicians’ mums for a book on what it’s like to raise a child who becomes a rock star.
Virginia Hanlon Grohl has interviewed Dr Dre’s mother Virginia Griffin, Amy Winehouse’s mother Janis Whitehouse and the mother of the Haim sisters, Donna Haim, for her book From Cradle To Stage: Stories From The Mothers Who Rocked And Raised Rock Stars.
The book is published in April 2017 in the US by Seal Press and features a foreword by Dave Grohl, as well as exclusive childhood photos of Foo Fighters’ singer. A UK publication date has yet to be announced.
Other mothers interviewed by Hanlon Grohl over the past two years include Marianne Stipe, whose son is former REM singer Michael Stipe; Hester Diamond (Mike D) and Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine’s mum Patsy Noah.
