The band described The Cribs as a “model band”
The duo, who are about to embark on two-month long trek around the UK, revealed that they were inspired by the indie rock band.
“We want to be able to do everything, I think it’s important to do the small shows and the big shows to maintain the balance. Don’t forget where you come from. The Cribs are the model band, I can’t say we made any of these ideas up ourselves, they did all that stuff,” Laurie Vincent told Dork.
Vincent and his bandmate Isaac Holman are planning to perform in a mixture of tiny local venues and institutions like London’s Shepherds Bush Empire during their thirty date tour.
“I always liked seeing The Cribs. You can see ‘em in the small venues and the big ones. We always said if we could do a similar thing to The Cribs, we’d be well proud,” said Holman of the decision.
The band’s tour begins tonight in Oxford, they play Brighton’s Green Door Store tomorrow (September 6).
Last week, the band performed a cover of The Streets’ ‘Fit But You Know It’ during a live session on BBC Radio 1.
