The Strokes guitarist Nick Valensi has performed on US TV this week with new band CRX.

Comprising of five musicians – including Valensi on guitar – CRX’s line-up is completed by The Dose drummer Ralph Alexander, Guards and Willowz guitarist Richie James Follin, LA musician Darian Zahedi, and The Reflections member Jon Safley. The band were introduced to world online back in August, before playing their first live shows. UK dates are expected to be announced soon.

CRX released their Josh Homme-produced debut album ‘New Skin’ in October.

Valensi recently confirmed that The Strokes were working on their long-awaited new album.

“We are slowly but surely working on an album,” he said. “I don’t know when it’s going to be released, we’re kind of just in writing sessions. We’re writing.”

“I’m actually in New York at the moment, at a studio in New York for that,” he added.

Valensi had previously told NME that The Strokes had plans to release new music “next year”, adding: “If I start saying a lot now, people get too excited. Then there’s all this hype you’ve got to compete with, and that’s not fun. If anything, I’d rather just pull a Beyoncé at some point next year and just drop shit.”
