Since when was reading/leeds an explicitly 'Rock' festival? Since never. Fine it had a frankly shit rock day, that I would never go near if you paid me, but it has always seemed pretty indie to me in recent years. The lineup is great so far.If you want 'Rock' go to Download

Coldplay album set to top UK chart

'Viva La Vida..' trounces rivals - despite being out for just a day

Oh look, its rudimentary commented on a Coldplay story. I don't know why you have some weird grudge against Coldplay, but sort your life out... Comparing Coldplay to the Nazis is REALLY funny. I think Scouting For Girls are wank but I don' t feel compelled to comment on all their news stories. In other news, Coldplay's new ablum is rather good

Full Glastonbury line-up revealed ? world exclusive

Every band from the main stages ? find out who is playing where on NME.COM

Lets all calm down people. There are actually loads of great bands here, the only problem is that they are frequently cancelled out by quite a few really shite ones. I mean, how has James Blunt managed to get anywhere near the main stage? However, the Pyramid Stage on the Verve day is pretty average so far and the Jay Z isn't looking too great either. The Other and John Peel Stages are looking quite strong though. Just a shame so many good bands are bound to clash.

It seems strange that they put anything from Hail to the Thief on a best-of....Talk Show Host is an excellent inclusion though. Seems like a bit of a record company cash-in to me though, not the kind of thing Radiohead themselves would do

Jay-Z confirmed to headline Glastonbury 2008

Michael Eavis says rapper will top Pyramid Stage

Sat 02 Feb, 2008

Comments (1)

I have no strong feeling for or against Jay-Z, but I think using him as an attempt to get more below-25s is misguided. I think the average Glastonbury goer probably doesn't like rap. I think it will put off a lot more people than it attracts.

Klaxons make history in NME end of year polls

Band bag Best Track and Best Album honour

Wed 12 Dec, 2007

Comments (1)

Yeah, you guys really are taking the piss. It's probably not the best album of the year, and Golden Skans is no where near the best track of the year. You voted for them clearly because you wanted it to be Klaxons, if that makes sense (rather than because it's actually the best album)
