Great gig, people singing the songs on the tube home. Superb setlist, although would have loved to have heard 'You're So Great'. Note to Phil Daniels: s-l-o-w d-o-w-n.

The Cure break curfew to close Coachella Festival

Robert Smith and co go for broke and finish set unplugged

Not quite up there with 'Fuck Robert Palmer! Fuck Rock n' Roll!' when they overran a festival slot in the early 80s, but a good effort none-the-less.

Liam Gallagher bigs up his favourite bands

Watch Gallagher Jr talking about his listening habits on NME.COM now

Thu 16 Apr, 2009

Liam Gallagher likes a band that sounds like The Beatles? Now there's a surprise. I guess we weren't expecting him to say he liked The Animal Collective. Did the kid who jumped on his head have to be held by security before brave Liam had a pop at him?

Oasis and Killers to headline V Festival

Plus Razorlight, Lily Allen, Pete Doherty, Elbow to play

Mon 02 Mar, 2009

Comments (1)

Agree with previous comments, poor line-up. Shame really...used to go every year in the early noughties but increasing prices, uninspired line-ups and overcrowding means that I won't be going again in the forseeable future. Save your money for Reading or one of the smaller festivals this year.

ABBA's Bjorn Ulvaeus attacks Pirate Bay founders during trial

He says people who use the site are 'lazy and mean'

He may have a point to a degree, but where was he and those other download moaners (e.g. Metallica) when the British public were getting ripped off to the tune of £15 per CD? Sticking up for the consumers - their fans? Yeah right...

Oasis' Noel Gallagher slams Mick Hucknall after Manchester comment

Noel says Mick’s comments are 'irrelevant'

Sat 22 Nov, 2008

Comments (2)

For fuck's sake joebaia, nobody's saying that Oasis are unpopular - they are saying they are boring and irrelevant. Two different things entirely. Going on about how many stadiums they've sold out is pointless. Do you really think the Stones are still relevant despite selling shedloads of tickets when they tour? What about Take That - they've sold out most of their shows recently. Oasis are contributing nothing to the British Music scene currently - their music is stuck in a timewarp. People are going to their shows purely for nostalgia. Oh, and if the Electric Proms was anything to go by - Liam's voice is shot to pieces.

Noel Gallagher: 'Radiohead have been making the same record since 'Kid A''

Oasis man still loves the Oxford band though

Fri 07 Nov, 2008

Comments (1)

A tongue-in-cheek comment, perhaps? If not, Noel Gallagher critising anyone for making the same record has to be the ironic statement of the century. The way he mentions Radiohead albums as being 'difficult electronic records' like he can't grasp the concept of anyone making anything other than straight-up rock'n'roll.

Manic Street Preachers to release Richey Edwards-written album

The new album is set to be released next Spring

Tue 04 Nov, 2008

The Holy Bible is the Manics best album and one of THE great albums. However a comfortable and middle-aged Manics attempting a followup without the fire in their bellies and some leftover prose (not even lyrics) doesn't sound like a good idea to me. They'd be better off sticking to making their more recent radio friendly unit shifters.

Ultranol, so saying proud to be British is jingoistic? Hmmm, people like you are the problem with this country - are you a student perchance? Anyway, agree with the comments about him selling-out - why would he agree to do if it wasn't for a sackful of filthy lucre.

Oasis exclusive: new album and single details announced

The Gallaghers' new album will be out in October

Tue 24 Jun, 2008

Exactly jeffn, Damon Albarn may be a bit of a pr*ck but musically he's streets ahead of Noel, who is a one-trick pony. Used to be a big fan of Oasis back in the mid-90's, but let's face it, they're a busted flush these days.
