The Mighty Boosh to launch their own festival

Comedy team to sign up bands summer show

Fri 18 Apr, 2008

WHY? Upon realising their 3rd series was infact sh*te, and DVD sales aren't actually any good either, the decision to hold a festival does smack ever-so slightly of desperation.MB movie? MB album? Now an MB festival. Give it up fellas, for christ sake!

Glastonbury fans offered new chance to register

Demand forces organisers to give festival-goers second opportunity

Tue 08 Apr, 2008

Oh dear. This smacks of desperation really, doesn't it? As it has been said, the good thing is that he's managed to get rid of the pillocks that have suffocated it in previous years. But instead of re-opening registration, he should just cap it, take the hit on the tickets, and take them off sale now. The first year i went (2002) I think there was only 100,000 - that was ample. Wasn't over-crowded, and it was relaxed. Why does he feel the need to pack the place to the rafters? I think Eavis is flogging a dead horse. Those that didn't register in the SIX WEEKS you were able to, are not going to turn around and register now. Not after the press Glasto has been getting over the last few days.On a music tip, it doesnt matter to me who headlines. I rarely spend any time at the Pyramid Stage anyway, Infact, the last headliner I wathed on the PS was White Stripes.

Glastonbury ticket-selling weekend: Fans' reactions

How has the nation reacted to this weekend's (April 6) Glastonbury ticket selling kick-off?

Mon 07 Apr, 2008

The REAL lovers of the Glastonbury festival won't be turned off by this one bit. They know that there will be so much more going on that they can simply go and enjoy something else when Jay-Z is on. Or, like me, if you're interested in seeing him perform, you can. This isn't your Snoop Dog one-trick gangster rubbish we're talking about here. Jay-Z has hooooge tunes, big strings, bass, and presence. Hard Knock Life will be awesome live. Reading had 50 Cent on a few years ago and everyone picked at it. Maybe this is what Glastonbury needs to get back to its fundamentals again. But this is diversity. Jigga is the biggest name in his genre. A bigger name than both KOL or The Verve. This should be welcomed. Also, if this is what it takes to get rid of the middle class Hooray Henrys that have suffocated the festival recently - those a little bit scared of getting mud on their nice Larua Ashley picnic rug - then so be it.

Jay-Z to pull out of Glastonbury?

Organisers deny rapper will pull headline slot at Worthy Farm

Mon 07 Apr, 2008

"Jay-Z is the reason for poor ticket sales". No, the reason for poor ticket sales is because of all the middle-class Hooray-Henry types that can't bear the thought of having to get their Timberland boots a bit dirty again. ME has made a brave decision to get Jay-Z on the bill, and it should be applauded. One of the thing this festival has reveled in is it's diversity, and there you have it. The same mob moaning would have no problem going to watch Dizzee Rascal. Why? Because Dizzee is fashionable. Jay-Z is THE biggest name in hip-hop today. To get him onside with this sort of festival is massive. The weak line in the headline acts is The Verve. Really, does anyone care anymore?

100,000 Glasto tickets sold so far

Sale proceeding

Sun 06 Apr, 2008

FEAR NOT! If you got your bank details in THEN it crashed, you've more than likely got your tickets. We had to wait about 4 hours for our email confirmation. I just went on there and got my mates for him in about 30 seconds.....so if you're still trying, DONT GIVE UP! Poxy ticketing system. Should have a 'tier system' in place like with football clubs. Tickets on sale first ot those been 5 or more years; the next day 2-4 years; the day after 0-2 years. Then you wouldnt get the rush.

I would imagine The Hoosiers, One Night Only, and Plain White T's are a nailed-on certainty. Hence the reason why the V-Festival should - as always - be avoided like ye Blacke Death!

The Enemy say they are 'bitterly disappointed' by Arctic Monkeys

Tom Clarke labels the Sheffield band as 'dull'

Wed 30 Jan, 2008

For a man widely regarded as 'the Ugliest Hobbit in Music', I think Mr.Clarke should be a little more 'tactical' with his personal digs. I can just see Alex Turner in the daily rag saying "Yeah, The Enemy write some decent tunes, but that Tom Clarke is a right ugly tw*t!". The Enemy have acheived nothing, and composed nothing of note. "Awayohwayohwayoh...". Inspiring stuff. Give up on the 'working class hero' cobblers, you smurf. Noel did to 12 years ago, and it's just boring us now.
