The Strokes' Julian Casablancas: 'I never planned to make a solo album'

Singer says he wanted to keep himself busy during Strokes downtime

Wed 11 Nov, 2009

Comments (1)

Am I crazy or did the Strokes say they'd be recording a new album LAST January as well? I wonder if it will ever actually happen. Though my friend said she saw 3 of the other Strokes (eveyone but Nikolai) at Julian's solo show in LA. last Friday so at least we know they're on speaking terms...

The Strokes' Julian Casablancas: 'I'm releasing a Christmas song'

Singer exclusively tells NME.COM about his festive plans

Tue 03 Nov, 2009

Comments (1)

I thought the solo album was okay...but reading his interview in SPIN (sorry, NME) kind of changed my opinion of him. He's very self-centered and said he wants to be as big as Creed was in 2000. Wtf is going through his head? Now throw in this Christmas single...is he trying to be the next George Michael?

Muse ask Fox News presenter Glenn Beck to retract his support for the band – audio

Beck called President Obama 'racist' in July

Mon 05 Oct, 2009

Comments (1)

Glenn Beck is extremely thick-headed, but did Muse really have to do that? I guess Muse doesn't want people who think differently than them to listen to their music. Which, if you ask me is...pretty thick-headed.

Couldn't have said it better kerplunk. I love KOL, but I know I'm not the only one who counts myself a little betrayed by their latest manhandling of the mainstream (and their annoying complaints regarding their new found fame). I remember seeing them in 2005 in New Jersey with about 200 other people...

John Lennon to appear in advert from beyond the grave

Former Beatle joins campaign to get technology to the poor

Sun 28 Dec, 2008

Comments (1)

markiechops, I couldn't agree more. I respect Lennon for his contributions to music, but as a human being he was far from the angel of peace he's been turned into, mostly by Yoko, since his death. I'd much rather be friends with "thumbs-up Macca," as you put it, than the babied, pouting, entitled man John became before his death.

Barack Obama and John McCain's favourite songs revealed

Rolling Stones, ABBA, will.i.am all make the presidential hopefuls' iPods

Wed 13 Aug, 2008

Comments (1)

will.i.am wrote that song for obama which is probably why its on there. Honestly those two lists are a toss up. Obama's got springsteen and the stones but McCain's got Good Vibrations, Blue Bayou AND is manly enough to admit that ABBA hold TWO of his top 10 spots. Ballsy.

Fans slate Kooks' Luke Pritchard over Arctic Monkeys feud

Singer slated after revealing Alex Turner beef

Mon 19 May, 2008

Comments (1)

Being an American, neither band is in the media at all, ever. Besides the music I can only go by interviews I've read or heard and both are pretty arrogant honestly. It seems to me that the Kooks, due to their lack of quality lyrics, just don't have the staying power the Monkeys do. However, musically, both are pretty average and predictable to be honest. That "girl's school equivalent of Noel vs Damon" comment is pretty hilarious.
