Im from Sheffield and even I can not understand how Manchester has not won this.....Dont get me wrong the Beattles are untouchable, but how can Manchester be so overlooked to come 3rd. The Smiths, Morrisey, Stone Roses, Ian Brown, Oasis, Happy Mondays, Joy Division, New Order, The Buzzcocks, The Charlatans and even Take That and Simply Red...........

Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's ashes stolen

Singer's remains taken from Courtney Love's home

With all due respect to Kurt and Courtney, I cant help wondering whether the Daily Mail will blame Courtney's suicide (if she does it) on My Chemical Romance..................

Rudimentary - Do you not think your comment about Wheelie getting spelling advice is a little hypocritical? You slate Wheelie's spelling (which is clearly a typo) by leaving a comment "u might learn summat.....like how to spell"U? Summat? Hypocrit.

Peter Wentz and Ashlee Simpson marry

Couple tie the knot in low key ceremony

Sun 18 May, 2008

It must be pure coincedence that the couple tie the knot as both Ashlee and FOB are due to release new records.Still despite me not being a fan of Pete, fair play to him for bagging Ashlee. Shes well worth one.

Emo music attacked over teen suicide

Genre blasted again after 13 year-old 'emo girl' commits suicide

Thu 08 May, 2008

Comments (1)

I appreciate that this is a raw subject and that the suicide of a 13 year old has to be, and should be, taken seriously. But to come out and blame Emo directly I think is terrible, especially homing in on one band.I am not a "emo" but I do like to listen to some of the labelled "emo" bands. I have no feelings or thoughts of wanting to self harm or commit suicide after listening to the music.Perhaps it could be plausable to point the finger at "Emo" culture, but to put focus on My Chemical Romance is appauling. People all over the world commit suicide and self harm, normally it is a cry for help or because something is making them uncontrollably angry or upset and they can see no light at the end of the tunnel. My Chemical Romance do not push this behaviour or encourage it. Im sorry for the families lost but to say what they have said is wrong.

Glastonbury chief responds to Oasis' criticism

Michael Eavis calls Noel Gallagher's festival views 'weird'

Sun 04 May, 2008

Comments (1)

There are some really narrow-minded people here that have totally forgotten what Glastonbury is all about. It has never been billed as a rock festival. It is a music/entertainment festival. There are a host of different genres of music and acts playing throughout the weekend. I'd personally rather watch Jay-Z than be subject to another shockingly poor Oasis performance......countless sound problems, poor vocal sound and error after error on the instruments......until Oasis get their act together and sort themselfs out I cant see why they have a right to slag off anyone.......

lil miss emileee = retard.Dont you read the article fully you muppet. The Arctic Monkeys did win, but they weren't there so the Klaxons picked up the award for them as the 2 bands are good friends. It doesn't say anywhere that the Klaxons won best album over the Arctics. What an idiot you are.........

Oasis' Noel Gallagher: 'Jay-Z wrong for Glasto'

The guitarist says hip-hop is 'wrong' for the British festival

Mon 14 Apr, 2008

A couple of things, firstly I'd like to continue the attack on "Dakie" who is a complete and utter muppet. How is anything Noel said racist, you complete dolls head!Secondly, to the prick that had a pop at Kings of Leon, I believe their name to be "Sounded". Kings of Leon are currently one of the only bands that are worth going to see. They were immense at Leeds/Reading last year. Easily the best band of the weekend and completely upstaged the Chilli Peppers and Razorlight (the second, i admit, is hardly difficult).

Glastonbury tickets still on sale

To be honest I cant understand why everyone is slating Jay-Z. Hes done nothing wrong, Eavis booked him trying to attract different people. Jay-Z has done some really good tracks, and while Im not a rap fan I'd sooner it be Jay-Z than 50p.Everyone seems to demand that Radiohead or Muse play every year. I cant understand it. Yes, they are great bands that put on an amazing show, but you cant expect them to play every year. There are loads of other bands and acts on at the same time, go and see them. Broaden your arisens. Or if you prefer wait till next year, when no doubt Eavis will fold after this years critiscm and instead of trying new acts and bands he'll book Radiohead (again) and Muse (again).

Milburn to split

Arctic Monkeys' mates announce farewell gig

Tue 01 Apr, 2008

Although it appears to have been on the cards for a while now, it seems a little ironic that NME release this story (late), when it is in fact the NME that slammed Milburns album "Well, Well, Well".I saw the band several times and they were a class above most other "indie" bands at the time.

Fans react to Jay-Z Glastonbury headline announcement

How has the news gone down with music fans across the world?

Mon 04 Feb, 2008

Comments (1)

Glastonbury has always tried to attract diverse music acts to draw in diverse music fans. All these people are moaning about Jay-Z headlining, but they are not offering any alternatives. Why not? Because they know that Radiohead, Muse, The Cilli’s etc. who are renowned as been some of the best live bands in the world have played the festivals, they’ve headlined the main stages. While Jay-Z isn’t new to music he’s someone new to festivals who is capable putting on an amazing show. I’ll admit I was hoping for Kanye West when it was announced it would be black solo artist, but I am not disappointed with it being Jay-Z. Antartic Funky – Who would you have suggested to headline? If you want someone to Mosh to go to Download, if you want music to Rave to then go to Creamfields. I cant see what everyones problem is, most other bands have been seen by most, how many people can say they have seen Jay-Z in the UK?? It’s a great opportunity to see an entertainer that very rarely does this kind of show. Give him a chance, and if your too narrow minded, have fun at Reading, watching the usual predictable line up………….
