NME.COM takes a look back at the group's short-lived career

I'm sorry, but anyone who slates their second album clearly hasn't listened to it. I mean, really listened. There are some phenomenal tracks on there, lyrically and musically, such as Faultlines, Come Closer, The North and the magnificent Truth Begins. How can anyone listen to Truth Begins and not like it? It's a perfect song, simple as. Plus, the last verse of 'blood on my shoes'? Lyrically sublime. Cut them some slack people, get off whatever bandwagons you're currently on and realise that the libertines are the past, Carl is trying to grow as an artist, and we owe it to him to support him, he and Pete changed a lot of lives, for the better.
