Steampacket said it all really... bootlegs from the time confirm the Faces slaughtered the Stones and everyone else as a live act in the seventies. It is a crime that Rod’s history has been tainted by ignorance and bad press. Rod and Ron were Led Zeppelin, before Led Zeppelin, laying the template with the albums they made with Jeff Beck. The Sex Pistols and other Punk bands formed because of the Faces. Oasis, Primal Scream, the Stereophonics are all fans – the Pogues, Manics, Revolting Cocks and Blur have all covered RS songs. And Rod wasn’t ever as bad after the Faces as the press made out. I saw him at Wembley in 2002 a few days after Glastonbury and he done tons of Faces-era stuff and his energy level for a guy in his 50’s was amazing. Who cares if they’re all old, they could well wipe the floor with some of the best. I’ll definitely be going.mikeer - Small Faces better than the Faces! What planet are you on?It would be great to see a feature on this lot in the NME.
