Legendary rapper was 43 when he passed away
Tue 20 Apr, 2010
Gang Starr were consistently brilliant and Step In The Arena is one of the greatest Hip Hop albums of all time. This news is all the more upsetting given the current state of Hip Hop. R.I.P. to a truly great emcee.

The 18-year-old will release 'The Climb' tomorrow
Sun 13 Dec, 2009
The real Macca must be turning in his grave. The doppelganger did do a mean Live and Let Die though. @ Clarefromscotland I wouldn't mind a working class geordie having a number one single if he'd written it himself and didn't get his break performing on a karaoke tv show.

'Tell Me It's Not Over' is out in March
Wed 28 Jan, 2009
When you've graced the cover of NME as the best new band in Britain, released 3 albums (soon to be 4) and played on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury then feel free to make your moronic comments. Until then...........................................

Mani says the rest of the band members are up for it
Tue 15 Jul, 2008
I'd love to see them reunite and do a don't look back tour where they could play their debut in it's entirety to mark it's 20th anniversary. What better reason to bury the hatchet. Over to you Ian.

Are you listening to music illegally at work?
Tue 17 Jun, 2008
They are shooting themselves in the foot with this one. Most people only listen to the radio while they are in work and if they are forced to stop then a lot of radio stations will lose revenue from advertising and be forced to stop broadcasting and more importantly all the bands will lose the greatest promotional tool they have. If you can't hear music you won't buy it. Simple eh?

'I could give up music now' declares Geoff Barrow of Public Enemy collaboration
Thu 12 Jun, 2008
Public Enemy may not be in favour with the cool kids at the moment but in my opinion they are every bit as important as Led Zep. In a world of bling obsessed rappers and very average rockers the music of PE has never been more relevant.

The guitarist says hip-hop is 'wrong' for the British festival
Mon 14 Apr, 2008
As an Oasis fan it really disappoints me when they come out with Shit like that. Glastonbury is a Festival Of Contempary Arts and should not be reserved just for Indie shoegazers or Rockers past their sell by date. I appreciate that Jay-Z may not be everyones cup of tea but the solution is simple. Just go and watch somebody else.

Last year's Sunday night headliner also criticises line-up and prices
Tue 08 Apr, 2008
So Glastonbury is a Rock Festival now instead of being a Festival Of Contempary Arts? It shouldn't matter at all that one of the headliners is a "Hip Hop Man" as long as he's good (and he is). One of the best things about going to a festival like Glastonbury is the diverse choice of artists on the bill. If you don't like Jay-z then don't watch him but it will be your loss.
