It's always been fashionable to slag off U2. They're a decent band. Although very much more a 'singles' band after Pop... the trouble with NLOTH is that it didn't have any strong singles but was actually a better 'album' that the previous two.

The Strokes opened up music to all that came after.. the bastards..yeah, they're a bit shit, first album was good but hardly something of relevance now... 'high concept' NME fodder for an indie scene about to crunch.
