theyre honestly not great.i'd giv em a 5 out of 10.everything is fairly simple by them and its made out to be complex and special. i dont think theyre like Joy Division at all. if thats what theyre aiming for theyve done an incredibly poor job. Curtis cud genuinely haunt you with his style and lyrics were pretty twisted.the lyrics out of this lot sound like something a pissed off bullied 13 year old writes. emotional or depressing music just doesnt work when its made by posh and well off little boys like white lies. theyre decent and will hav plenty of kudos with the indie kids but nothing special. read pitchforks review of the album, fairly accurate.

little harsh to say the least lads.theyre unrecognisable. lyrical content remains generally the same. i think after richey left they kind of realised that they were past the stage of wearing tight white skinny jeans and leopard skin jackets. except nicky of course. i think just like zeppelin they cudnt continue without an irreplaceable member and became a different band as a result.and tbh lads when you're a critically acclaimed band ur whole career wanting a little commercial success isnt exactly a crime. i just think everyone that listens to rock and indie music these days condemns mainstream to seem like they know something bout music. getting into the top 40 doesnt exactly make ur music any less real or meaningful. i still love the manics. and while i would long for a return to the roots i still enjoy the slightly more contemporary sound they have now

tbh i think richey needed to go missing.i think the fact that he went missing is influencing opinions on how good his lyrics wer without anyone actually properly listening.but i love the manics. 1 of 2 favourite bands. theres only 2 manics albums i dont really like. and thats know ur enemy and lifeblood. the rest hav all been pure quality. i think richey needed to disappear for them to truly find their own genius, it made them grow as a band.if this is Holy Bible part 2 coming then i really cant wait. its by far my favourite Manics album of them all. pure beautfiul nihilism. when they sed his lyrics wer being used i got shivers.i dont think theyll mess it up off the back of send away the tigers cos that was a top album. nicky wire has his own barrel of super lyrics to pick from.i hope the new album will do richey justice. and i cant wait

personally I'm gutted that Plant wont be reforming but i still cant help but beg the question why? i honestly cannot imagine why he would like to see the dynasty he was instrumental in creating rise again without his intervention.you can replace a guitarist, bassist or drummer with another person.at the end of the day, instruments can be built to sound the same, the music can remain the same, but Plants voice or any lead singers voice for that matter is the piece of a group that are the eyes, they just cannot be changed or completely duplicated anyway. it didnt work for queen, i cant picture zeppelin being any different
