Singer threatening to withhold music from record label

The writing is on the wall, the industry is crumbling, this is due to the fact that record labels simply have very little to offer artists, except money, most services offered are third party hired hands, ie record plugging, marketing services etc.. Artists are NOT leaving EMI out of protest over staff cuts, they want to leave because they can sell direct to fans via the internet. The days of the traditional 'major' label are numbered! Long live talent in the time of the slow death record label.
