Frontman also bemoans the state of the Top 40
Sun 09 Jan, 2011
Does anyone actually know what Nicky Wire once said? Everyone who says MSP appearing on Strictly makes this wrong is an idiot. The entire aim of the Manics was to sell out from the get go, Nicky wanted them to be popular....nothing else. JDB is spot on though, no band are in it to be the best in the business, they're happy with mediocrity. Go back to Britpop when we had bands fighting to be number 1..hell even the 60's had the Beatles and the Stones "fighting" for chart supremacy. It sickens me that most bands around today have no balls!

Plus singer says he'll 'always be busy' if Noel calls
Tue 01 Dec, 2009
So Liam is essentially dropping the songs that made him famous? Fucking hell, you know he'll end up calling Noel once it goes tits up and beg him to rejoin and all will be right once more.

Singer finally breaks his silence on split
Thu 08 Oct, 2009
Oh how I love the stereotyping of all Oasis fans! We're all "laddish yobs". Why? Because we like our music with a bit of balls? Because we say it as it is? I can find you Oasis fans from all walks of life, not just the working class, council estate lads like myself. I tell you one thing; people who say these are irrelevant pieces of news obviously believe they are relevant otherwise you wouldn't be here getting wound up. Now go back and listen to your "interesting" and "educated" rock music while we listen to a generation defining band who's chief songwriter suffers from dyslexia.

Guitarist walks after gig cancellation
Fri 28 Aug, 2009
You can all say what you want but you all know that somewhere in your music collection you have at least 5 oasis tracks. To all who say Oasis are irrelevant, what a load of horse shit; if they were irrelevant, you wouldn't talk about them. Had Burnages finest never formed, you wouldn't have your Arctic Monkeys, Razorlights, Libertines etc around today. I don't care what you say, all of those bands have said in an interview had it not been for Definitely Maybe, they wouldn't have made the music they make. You can all walk around like blind sheep wearing your checkered shirts, skin tight jeans, snooker cue shoes and look like you've just come off of the streets and could do with a fucking good wash but remember that had it not been for these boys, music as we know it would be obsolete. Everyone would be walking round acting like a gangster rapper, when they come from Oxford, Cambridge etc. FUCK THE HATERS! Live Forever!

However, the singer says he'd rather do a new Oasis album in 'six months'
Wed 19 Aug, 2009
davidagillespie, you make me chuckle. NME tends to fall in love with scummy art rock bands and the latest indie by numbers bands who wave their arses in the air, begging radio one to fuck them up the arse. If Noel writes a solo album then fair play to the guy, he's been toying with the idea for a while and in all fairness, both he and Liam could well go ahead and write solo albums.

Again, Liam says something and as per fucking usual, you poncy southern wankers jump on him. What the fuck happened to the world of free speech. If this was that poncy cock from Bloc Party you'd be sucking his dick quicker than a whore but because it's someone who has some balls you act like a bunch of pansies and get offended by it. If you're offended, shut the fuck up and keep it to yourselves.

Film for new single takes aim at monarchy
Tue 03 Feb, 2009
I'm crying on the inside at how moronic people really are. To say Oasis are irrelevant is a load of crap. If they weren't irrelevant then surely people wouldn't comment on them, nor would they cite Definitely Maybe as one of the finest albums ever. Mahady is quite clearly a pretentious art student who listens to *insert generic indie by numbers band* and other pointless crap bands who are relevant for about 20 minutes and fade out as quickly as they appear. Also, come back in 15 years when you've had 7 number one albums, 7 number one singles and countless tours sell out, until YOU'RE the irrelevant one.

Noel says he's not that great and Paul Weller agrees
Tue 27 Jan, 2009
Noel, ever the modest man. But for once, his modesty is actuallly true. While I love his style of play both on the electric guitar and the acoustic, he isn't a patch on Weller or Marr. Like John Lennon before him, Noel will not be remembered for his fantastic guitar playing, he'll be remembered for writing some of the best loved tunes of the 90's and 00's.

Billy Bones, welcome to 2000. Oasis haven't touched Helter Skelter in a long time mate. Whether you like it or not, Oasis are still relevant. The marketing of this album has nothing to do with it, as I am yet to see an advert for the album on the television. The Rolling Stones got a number one album down to the vast majority of their fans still being around now, much like how Oasis are still relevant now and a new generation of fans are picking up Definitely Maybe and (What's The Story) Morning Glory? just to see what the fuss was about in 1994-96. DOYS is the best album Oasis have done since BHN. Like it or not, Oasis are back and are here to stay. Bring on another ten years of noise and confusion.

Elliott_Decihells, you have got to be fucking well kidding me. Do you actually listen to proper music or are you quite happy to idly listen to a bunch of pre pubescent public school, spotty nosed herbert's who dance around to casio keyboard demos. Oasis churn the same shit out. Okay, you take an E, A, D and G chord progression and make something original being as you so look like a musical genius. You're full of crap, and as for the £2.50 Paul Weller haircut, grow the fuck up. Weller has stood the test of time for 30 years now and no one cares about his haircuts or anything like that, it's all about the music, unless your a pretentious art student wanker who buys into all the corporate bullshit that the independent among us wish to believe. What you follow is that of sheep, independent is long gone from the music scene. And then you say Ian Brown doesn't vary his style, listen to Golden Greats and then The World is Yours, you will find both albums to be very different in style, therefore proving that point wrong.
