In response to highwaycompanion's message...According to Peter Brown's book on the Beatles, it was Bob Dylan who introduced the Beatles to marijuana. Dylan went through some profound drug experiences during 1964-5. According to biographer Tony Scaduto: 'He … tried just about everything he could to ‘open his head’ ' Plus many of Dylan’s songs were about drugs, including “Lay Down Your Weary Tune,” “Subterranean Homesick Blues,” and “Mr. Tambourine Man.”ALSO:In Peter Bogdanovich's documentary on Tom Petty: "He and the Heartbreakers describe almost getting arrested for drugs in Europe, and a clip from German television shows glassy-eyed bass player Ron Blair somehow pulling through a song despite swallowing a stash of hashish."Yeah.
