UK's biggest retailer of singles gives up on the format

I NEVER download albums, I always buy them, but I really don't see the point of spending £3 on a CD with about 2 songs on it when you can just get it on the album or a download.It's sad that they're not being sold anymore, but they were always a waste of money.
