Leonard Cohen's song is at Number One and Two
Sun 21 Dec, 2008
The X Factor and Simon Cowell have really taken the fun out of the Christmas Number One, as whoever the singer and whatever the song, while X Factor is around it will ALWAYS be number one, which is a real shame for pop music fans.

it's taken him the best part of six months but finally "whatawasteoftime" has got something right! Just my opinion but I hate everything about their style of music. From the horrible solos that all sound the same to me from the vocal technique from William Axl Rose where he sounds like a cat being strangeled. If they were shit with Slash, without him, God i dread to think. Theirs only one album I'll be buying that day, The Killers!!!! :) Now i'll wait for its_rudimentary to come and slag me off like he usually does haha

I can't stand Louis Walsh. I hate the way he defends Westlife as if it's life or death. Personally I'd be embarrased to claim all them number ones as not only do they not write their own songs, their all bloody covers!, plus they have crap voices and it's only middle aged woman that buy them. I watched the show on Saturday and no Laura wasn't the worst, but she should have gone over that Ruth, she was fantastic!

Singer brands the Followill clan sellouts
Fri 31 Oct, 2008
I disagree with Liam Gallagher. I find heard of the Kings last summer, but I hated tunes like On Call and Charmer and just dismissed them as rubbish, but when they came round again this time it was a totally different story, the album is fantastic, songs like Crawl and Notion really are just sex on fire! :) But then in terms of personal prefrence I've always prefered pop sounding rock music, to rock sounding music hence prefering older beatles tunes like All My Loving to the more crazy stuff like A Day In The Life. Anyway in a nutshell the new album is more pop sounding, so i'm going to love it, but original fans, well they'll hate it, but it's just personal preferance really. It's not really suprising he loves Kasabian though, or Arctics for that matter.

Plans to replace the singer have met with a hostile reception
Wed 29 Oct, 2008
I don't see why not to be honest. Why should Robert Plant deny millions the chance to see these brilliant songs live. I'm 19, I wasn't around when Led Zeppelin were but theirs very few bands that have the magic that Led Zep do. I'd love to hear songs like Rock & Roll, Stairway to Heaven and Good Times Bad Times live, if Plant would rather tour with some country bird than possibly the greatest rock n roll band in history then thats his choice but it shouldn't stop Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones doing what they love. It does beg the question who the replacement should be. Not Jack White, it wouldn't work in my opinion, and definantly not Steven Tyler, I can't stand him!

Another Oasis headline, Another 40 or so comments, the most relevant band in the world, simple as that. As for Dig Out Your Soul, I think 8/10 is fair, it's no Morning Glory but it's still bloody brilliant and for me it's probably a toss up between Guy Garvey and Noel Gallagher for album of the year, and thats MY opinion, not fact MY opinion. As for Kings Of Leon, havn't heard there new record so can't comment, but The Shock Of The Lightning is much better than Sex On Fire (which is still good tbf) :D. As a United fan, I'd love to see em at Old Trafford. Seeing them in Birmingham on Monday night, roll on Oasis!

Sat 04 Oct, 2008
I'm sorry I've sat back for long enough, I simply have to comment and I have to back "possitive mental attitude" and "TheCowboyJunky". The fact is, Oasis are relevant and will always be relevant because everytime Gallagher opens his mouth he gets about 50 comments on here. Everytime he releases an album you lot listen to it!, and have you heard yourselves, ok sure I don't want to know everything Gallagher does nor do I agree with him all the time, but Noel doesn't care he hates you!, so go listen to your "revelutionary" Kings Of Leon albums, I'm quite content with Dig Out Your Soul. Right i'm off up the shops to buy Dig Out Your Soul and seeing as it has Glasvegas in, this weeks NME. Happy Days :D

Sun 05 Oct, 2008
It just goes to show how bad the British Charts are with manufactured pop rubbish beating one of the greatest rock and roll bands in history. Still the album chart is what matters, and as 14-year-old school kids don't have enough pocket money to buy Pink's album, Oasis should triumph.

Why is it The Killers oout sell Mystery Jets by a hundred to one do you think? hmmmm.......

Guy Garvey overawed by Mercury Music Prize victory
Tue 09 Sep, 2008
I generally just don't understand The Mercury Music Awards, I mean what do they judge on? Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" is my album of the year and it doesn't even make the shortlist. I mean number one in 33 countries not enough for you? The other one was Duffy, the best female vocalist in years and yet she doesn't make the shortlist...the judges want there heads looking at. And so to the awards night. It just had to be The Last Shadow Puppets really, just a perfect perfect album with the greatest songwriter of his generation and brilliant strings arranged by Mr Pallet. I would have settled for British Sea Power to win as well one of the most exiting bands for a long time. Elbow are just an absolutley horrendous band with no songs. Why are TLSP more famous and on tv and radio more than Elbow? Beacuse there better simple as that, Rant Over.

A dissapointing list from Noel, I know it's personal choice but I'd have thought he'd put The Jam and The Stone Roses in there. I got up early for the new single this morning. I think it's fantastic. It sounds more like a raw guitar track, something that could feature on Definantly Maybe rather than a more poppy sounding one that would be included on Don't Believe The Truth but nevertheless a brilliant song, Noel was hilerious on Chris Moyles this morning, just so so so funny although he needs to get some respect for Scouting and Kaisers. For what Scouting do i.e make cheesy catchy pop songs, there great! and Kaisers are brilliant I think it's fair to say there latest album (Yours Truely Angry Mob, 2007) is as good as Oasis' (Don't Believe The Truth, 2005), anyway roll on the tour I fancy Brum on either the 13th or 14th, Noel is god haha

Fri 04 Jul, 2008
You miss the point, whatever Noel says goes, if he says Jay-Z shouldn't be at Glasto then he shouldn't, Noel is a god in my eyes. Oasis are the most important band of the last 20 years so dirtdingus roll with that! ;)

Fri 20 Jun, 2008
Well not the Strokes there one of the worst bands I've ever heard. Blur are alright but it's between the other two. Muse World Class, how can you say there boring, you got ears chap haha, but When Oasis are involved there is only one winner, Nice on Mr Gallagher I look foward to sweet victory and the new album.

Band's own Big Brother label enters new partnership
Thu 19 Jun, 2008
There has been some great albums already this year from the likes of The Fratellis, The Zutons, The Last Shadow Puppets and more recently Coldplay but this is the one I have been really waiting for. The best band in the world are back. It's going to be intresting to see what direction the band go in as musically each album has been quite different. Noel has talked about throwing in the kitchen sink and making another "huge" album like Be Here Now and to be honest I like the sound of that. I think however Mr G needs to come out and address the fans about the drumming position as theres been no official word on who will replace Zac, I'd love and I repeat LOVE an arena tour as well, like Coldplay have announced, that would be mint, if the band come to the Birmingham NIA I would be so very very happy :) I suppose with the news that Mr Kapranos will not be releasing this year after all, god knows what he's been doing for the past four years, that just makes this album even more anticipated in my house ha.

Beatles' hometown tops new poll
Tue 17 Jun, 2008
I'm a Brummie and I can be the first to say we shouldn't have won haha. I think either Liverpool or Manchester should have won. Manchester has provided the likes of Oasis, The Stone Roses etc and more recently the brilliant The Courteeners, but Liverpool as well as producing two top quality modern day bands in The Wombats and The Zutons they have produced the greatest band of all time for me in The Beatles so i'd give it to Liverpool.

'Viva La Vida..' trounces rivals - despite being out for just a day
Fri 13 Jun, 2008
Mr Shankley doesn't like any bands, I've never seen him compliment anyone. For me selling millions does mean your good at what you do. I hate Westlife but there very good at producing cheesy pop covers. I love Coldplay and they are brilliant at producing there style of music. For Pete Doherty49 :) to suggest there trying to be Radiohead is laughable, Chris Martin walks over Mr Yorke for a start plus Coldplay can actually produce songs that are catchy. Brilliant album got it yesterday, wonderful band can't wait till the tour, this Oasis 7 and Franz Ferdinand 3 = Best Three albums of the year.

Is 'Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends' the new 'Be Here Now'?
Thu 12 Jun, 2008
You fools :) Oasis and Coldplay are the two best bands on the planet, get your ears tested boys and girls and enjoy proper music, and to the lovely chap who dissed She's Electic, "She's got a sister and god only knows how i've missed her, and on the palm of her hand is a blister and I need more time" brilliant I love you Noel. Got Viva La Vida this morning love it, love the song "Yes" fantastic, can't wait till 1st December, opening night of the tour and I am there, buzzing :)

Fri 06 Jun, 2008
wellwoodpars fan has for me made the best point in a long time. There is so many indie bands out there at the moment, and I must admit to liking lots of these, but they'd jump at the chance to play sold out arena and stadium tours. People should lay of Coldplay there one of the best bands in the country at the moment and no doubt will follow up three great albums with another one on Thursday. Got my tickets for Brum on 1st December and am looking foward to Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends. There nothing like Radiohead, to suggest they copy them is laughable.

Fri 23 May, 2008

Singer reveals violent feud with Arctic Monkeys
Thu 15 May, 2008
Arctic Monkeys are light years ahead of The Kooks in all departments. The Kooks are alright and have some good tunes but in terms of there front men, Turner is just a god especially after the Last Shadows album and Luke is just a bit of an idiot, I love the way Surge from Kasabian talks about him, Arctics seem to be nice lads where as the Kooks, well not Paul he's funny but Luke comes across as a right arrogant twat. To the twats critisizing both bands, go and listen to absolute dog shite like Foals, Ting Tingz etc and leave proper bands like Arctics alone.

Michael Eavis calls Noel Gallagher's festival views 'weird'
Sun 04 May, 2008
Spot on Mr Gallagher, Hip-Hip, not for me not at this level, Glasto is about quality guitar rock music not absolute drizzle like Jay-Z, Eavis is losing his touch maybe he should step down, I expected like Coldplat, Led Zep and Oasis as the headliners this year not the awful acts that we have, and to the muppet that critisized the fratellis, get your ears tested, world class debut album and a brilliant new sinle.

Tue 29 Apr, 2008
I always welcome comments from Noel he is just a legend and is easily the funniest man ever haha. Trippy92, what are you talking about haha, while Oasis are going they'll always be one of the biggest bands in the world. I have to say for such a big City fan Mr G does go to the Emirates Stadium rather a lot. I am not a City fan, I am a very happy United fan but to sack Sven is shocking he's been great for City, 9th place and they beat us twice. If this new owner thinks a manager can just come in to a club like City and win the league he is a 100% muppet it would take years for City to challenge for the title and a lot of money (apologies for the little dig city fans) Hopefully Sven stays, because City could be throwing something big away if he goes.

Then you went on to big up The Rolling Stones, without a shadow of a doubt the most overrated band ever, absolute cunts, Mick Jagger - "I want to retire, no longer required", take a leaf out of that Kaiser Chiefs song and step down, they are a dog shit band and Oasis are class.

Mon 14 Apr, 2008
As always I agree with Noel 100%. Jay-Z is one of the best rappers however this should be a mainly rock festival and with the two rock bands that are headlining being awful anyway in has-beens The Verve and the worst band in the world Kings Of Leon the last thing we need as well is a hip-hop artist. Last year's Sunday night headliner also criticises line-up and prices
Tue 08 Apr, 2008
I have to say I disagree with the great man, it's simply an awful line up this year, absolute drissle. It wouldn't have look good in 1998 let alone 2008. I expected something along the lines of Coldplay on the Friday Night, Oasis on the Saturday and Led Zeppelin on the Sunday only that could have matched or better last years, fabulous line up of Arctics, The Killers and The Who. This year we have washed up has beens like The Verve who will never be more than a one hit wonder, Kings Of Leon, what does Noel Gallagher see in them, there awful, terrible voice and choruses like "Ow she's such a charmer, oh no", crap, asbolutle garbage. Finally you have a hip-hop man at a Rock festival, not for me, he's a legend in hip-hop but shouldn't be here, terrible, maybe next year aye.
