Used reunion show tickets going for around £125
Mon 17 Dec, 2007
@ callaby....here are some answers for you
why the fuss? - because they always were, are and will be the best band in the world. the individual musicians are all in the top 3 of their art and together were so tight they wiped the floor with all of them. and even 75 % of them with Jason in place of his father proved last monday that they lost nothing of their power.
why hang on? - because nothing better came along since. many have tried no one comes near
why reuniting? - because their mentor and friend died last year and his wife asked them to.
they need the money? - they sold more albums than all the bands you have in your music collection put together (over 300 million and counting). even the poorer member (John Paul Jones) is worth over 30 million according to the latest sunday times rich list. their new compilation and dvd sells shedloads and even before this year's rekindled interest due to those releases and the reunion they sold a couple of hundred thousand records a year to a fanbase that's constantly refreshed by young people who find out themselves that Zeppelin is the best band there is.

Fans demand world tour after O2 Arena show
Tue 11 Dec, 2007
i was there last night and they are still the best band in the world without a doubt. Selfish git that I am I don't care if they tour as I a saw them once after 20 years of waiting and that's once more than i could have ever dreamed off. But I think they will. They absolutely enjoyed themselves last night, even John Paul Jones smiled. Their musicianship is still at the top and the vibe from the crowd, full of tears and joy must have confirmed to them that they are still the most loved band around. So yes Mr. Plant, get over it and tour for all those millions of fans who missed out. As you said last night after Stairway....Ahmet we did it....just do it again.
Nothing will ever top last night, but the thought off travelling the world and seeing the mighty Zeppelin (well 75 % off it - saying that Jason was awesome, his dad would have been proud) over and over again is very appealing.
It was emotional but my life is complete

Band say reformation is all about the money
Thu 06 Dec, 2007
here we go again... another band that have contributed nothing to music history dishing out an opinion that nobody is interersted in on one of the biggest, most influential and most successful bands in music history to raise their own little profile.
@ Steve Kemp - piss off you muppet.
This is a tribute gig for their lifelong friend and mentor who was often referred to as their 6th member. All the proceeds are going to charity. And after selling over 300 million records (yes, that's probably 299 million more than you will ever do) I am sure they do not need a last pay cheque. They have turned down numerous reunion tour offers over the years with amounts mentioned that were obscene. Why - because they got integrity and have more cash than they'll ever need. Robert Plant said recently that this gig only came together because Ahmet's wife asked them to do it.
They are going to do nothing special on stage, but they don't have to as their music is special enough. Bands nowadays too often forget that, and pretend to be something just to overshadow their rather average talent. Zeppelin had talent in abundance and that's why Monday will be awesome.
I can't wait and rest my case..

Find out where, when PLUS how to get tickets for the band's reformation
Wed 12 Sep, 2007
I know £ 125 is steep for a gig, but if they would just go on sale as most other tickets they will land in the hand of a few touts where prices would rise into the thousands without doubt. And yes 125 is a lot for loads of people but sacrificing a few nights out, a short holiday or whatever else you can easily spend that sort of money on, for the chance to see what's left of the greatest band in the world ever is surely worthy it if you are a real fan. i was born in 74 and never saw them for obvious reasons, but that's the moment i have been waiting for since I first heard LZ I at the tender age of 12, and if I didn't have the money I would get a second job over the weekend, sell a kidney etc to cough up the cash.

The reforming the legendary band is a bad idea say Scots
Tue 04 Sep, 2007
Who are The View? And how does whoever he is question the credentials of the greatest band in the world ever, when they are probably just another band that nobody will remember in a few months time. Led Zeppelin have done more with the first few notes of LZ I than all those young self-glorifying idiots will put out together in their entire life time, but than again it's probably just another way for them to increase their profile, as their music probably won't do it.
Yes Plant's voice is no longer like it used to be in the late 60's early 70's but it is still miles above anybody else's maybe Roger Daltrey, Chris Cornell and a few others excluded.
