Pete Doherty: 'Libertines will play festivals in 2010'

Babyshambles man outlines plan for next summer

Wed 19 Aug, 2009

Comments (1)

I don't see much point in The Libertines reforming as Pete already plays the best Libertines songs when touring with Babyshambles or when on his solo tour

'Oasis beat Blur in long-term Britpop war', claims music industry stats

PRS For Music figures claim more people listen to Noel than Damon

Wed 08 Jul, 2009

Where is Song 2? Surely that has to one of the most popular songs listened to as the yanks always use it for their sports games and ads plus it is always top spot on blur's last.fm

Pulp, Elastica, Supergrass for 'Common People' Britpop compilation

The Stone Roses and Cast feature – but no Oasis or Blur…

Wed 29 Apr, 2009

Comments (1)

They would most likely have a 2nd compilation with more Blur & Oasis songs on it, I think they are seeing how well this one would sell first without 2 of the biggest Britpop bands on it.

Fans accuse bouncers of being heavy-handed at Pete Doherty gig

Crowd members from Southampton gig claim security was 'over the top'

Fri 20 Mar, 2009

Comments (1)

I was @ the Nottingham gig and was disgusted by the majority of fans in the mosh pit , some were throwing full beer cans onto the stage, booing the support, throwing water over the tech guys (nearly ruining equipment). Dot Allison had to finish her set early and nearly got knocked out from a can of beer. The security did what they could and ejected people they caught throwing stuff. Pete made a smart remark to the crowd at the end that they couldn't hit him once all night.

Portishead: 'We won't give our music away free'

Band say they're looking at new release ideas as they finish contract

Wed 18 Feb, 2009

Comments (1)

They should let the fans decided how much to pay for the album, just like radiohead did. Portishead are not exactly a poor band and they would be making money from tours anyway. Making music shouldn't be about the money.

The Soft Pack: 'We hated being called The Muslims'

US band say their old name often drew a 'racist' response from people

Fri 05 Dec, 2008

Comments (1)

I agree with Jeppcat. Everyone's band name has a meaning or a story on why they called themselves a certain name. They knew they would get attention and exposure from calling themselves 'The Muslims' which they achieved. I think they are a bunch of losers for doing this stunt.

Gallows London pub show marred as singer is 'groped'

Frank Carter instructs the audience to 'destroy' the venue

Wed 03 Dec, 2008

Comments (1)

This Frank Carter sounds like a right idiot for trying to encourage fans to distroy a small pub, why wasn't the police involved? Also if he's jumping into crowds all the time, he has to expect that his private area will be touched.

Thu 06 Nov, 2008

I believe it when it happens. As much as I love blur, Its been the same story for the last 3 years about them reforming. Blur were one of the best british bands when all 4 of them were together, Even Noel Gallagher has admitted to be a fan of them now.

This makes a fresh news change instead hearing rubbish headline news about Oasis. 'You're So Great' is such a good blur song but very underated. Nice to see Doherty working with one of the best guitarists of our generation.

The Music slam download culture

Rob Harvey feels disillusioned by the digital revolution

Fri 05 Sep, 2008

Comments (1)

I disagree, I've discovered a lot of new bands from sites such as Last.fm and Myspace from downloading a previewing their music first. I've spent a hell of a lot money in the past year than ever on gigs from bands who put their music on the Internet. Robert Harvey's band has gone down hill in recent times , they were great when they started. He shouldn't have picked such a crap name for a band which is why he has issues with the Internet. I struggled to find their officially website. Just Google 'The Music' and see what i mean.
