Muse and Peter Andre beat Jay-Z to the top of the UK album chart

Taio Cruz heads up the UK singles chart this week

"Jay-Z said that Gallagher's criticism of him being chosen to headline Glastonbury didn't go down well because the general public didn't agree with him.It was almost like the people were saying no, we want that to happen. That’s the natural progression"Obviously don't want it to happen that much then!

Oasis end Wembley Stadium residency by reviving old classic

Band wrap up a trio of shows by playing an old favourite

Mon 13 Jul, 2009

I've been to several gigs at Wembley Stadium now and if you're not stood bang in the middle, nearer the front, the sound is terrible. Sound at Foot Fighters last year was terrible as was AC/DC a couple of weeks back. It's a big stadium and evidently difficult to fill. Saw Oasis on Saturday and managed to get in the Golden Circle - awesome. Oasis are oasis and you'll never get much banter out of them. What you do get is 2 hours of anthems which have shaped a generation and grown music publications such as this one! Long live Oasis

ed2005, you might be right, you might be wrong. Probably wrong but can you just clarify something for me? If ticket and album sales do not count, how do we measure if a band is any good?

Even Oasis couldn't lure me back, why o why couldn't they have played IoW - We put this festival on you bastards, with a lot of love!

Oasis' Noel Gallagher defies doctor's orders to begin UK tour

Band are introduced onstage in Liverpool by an old friend

Wed 08 Oct, 2008

Comments (1)

I'm gutted I'm not going to this tour, first one I've missed since I don't know when! On that note if anyone wants to offload a spare ticket for wembley and not rip me off I'd be very grateful. Although why they have included 'Rapture' & 'Where There's Life' at the expense of The Turning or Nature of Reality is beyond me. Also, Meaning of Soul needs to go, it wasn't good back in 05!

Morrissey heaps praise on The Courteeners

Ex-Smiths feels the love for Manchester youngsters

Thu 04 Sep, 2008

Comments (2)

It's all too easy to draw comparisons with The Courteeners and Oasis, namely because they both hail from Manchester. I doubt Midgeman & 20legend have actually listened to St Jude as musically the two bands sound nothing alike. If anything they sound more like a cross between The Smiths & The Artic Monkeys. I think The Courteeners will break the mold of bands only lasting one album such as Fratellis, kaiser Chiefs etc

Sun 17 Aug, 2008

Comments (1)

Anyone who chooses to watch the Kaiser Chiefs over The Verve or The Chemical Brothers can't be expected to be taken seriously. V reminded me how good the Verve where or rather, are. Can't wait for the new album, Britain needs another big band we've had enough mediocrity for the past 10 years

'Capitalistic ideas'!? You can rest assured that no one in this industry is doing it just for the love of music. Making money is the bottom line for everyone, including Radiohead. Fact.
