Bono's broadway effort most expensive production in history

'Spider-Man' musical is costing $40 million

Wed 08 Oct, 2008

Comments (1)

Prick. I thought Bono was all about giving money for those who need it, not being involved in a project so unnecessarily expensive its ridiculous. Plus 'spider man: the musical', whose idea was that?! Snow patrol did a fine job displaying why a spiderman show would suck already in one of their videos. Stupid idea, stupid man, stupid morals

Glastonbury 2009: 'over half of the tickets sold'

funklenut the Eavis' are not rich. They make all their money from dairy farming, thats what the grounds glastonbury festival is held on are used for the rest of the time. All the money made from the festival goes mainly to charity, then into putting together the next festival and what ever is left over goes to the bands. As for the whole deposit refunded the answer is most people probably have just paid the £50 because its easier to pay the rest in instalments, if these have not been paid by the beginning of february then they get £40 back and don't get a ticket. And finally for the interest, i think you are the only one who has considered that making you the only one who cares

Glastonbury: '2009 tickets have fairest system yet'

Michael Eavis speaks ahead of tickets going on sale

Wed 01 Oct, 2008

Comments (1)

It does indeed semi_mental. I read an interview with Emily Eavis a few weeks ago and she said that due to early tickets they would be sorting out everything else early too, so the headliners will be announced by december at the latest apparently. She didn't say anything about the rest of the line up though. Bookies favourite is Radiohead for headlining saturday followed by Muse. I'm hoping for My Bloody Valentine in there somewhere!

Love the radio series, season 1 and 2 and the live show dvd but season 3 was a serious let down. It took away their freedom to be creative, this can be seen by many jokes being brought back unnecessarily just to keep people happy. Now it seems people say they like the mighty boosh to be trendy, its really annoying. And yeah noel fielding is a knob now,i much prefered him before the fame of season 2 went to his head. I want to see Julian Baratt doing more, like hosting have i got news for you

christ! people are STILL bitching about the line up!! The line up was fantastic, especially on the smaller stages, the main stages are there to bring people in, coincidentally they exactly what they did, bigwillfm summed it up very nicely. But one last time: Glastonbury offers so much more than just the main stages! Go and explore, find some weird and wonderful people and areas, i know its difficult being posers that care about too much mud and how your hair looks while you stand waiting in front of the pyramid stage for he next one hit wonder indie band but for christs sake live a little!

Invasion, Jade goody entering then leaving Indian big brother very quickly, stabbings, jeremy kyle,(enter particular country)next top model, x-factor, consumerism and subway. So yeah, lets hope oasis aren't singing about anything relelvant because today sucks! Not necessarily looking forward to new oasis alum nor am i dreading it, I'm quite curious to see how they sound this time, they've never done anything i dislike.

Pete Doherty and Carl Barat hold songwriting sessions together

Could a Libertines reunion be on the cards?

Tue 24 Jun, 2008

Comments (1)

The Sun said it, it probably isn't true. it's common knowledge now that the two have been working on songs for a musical though how many they have writen is not known due to Carl being taken to hospital and Peter being locked up for a while. They seem to be constantly seperate so i personally doubt they are working on future releases yet although i would like very much for it to be true. Carlhad already said that he would reform The Libertines only if they were to definately do another album so it could be true, however he also said that the lib's would not reform until after he was done with Dirty pretty Things. Their new album has just been released and the whole band seem happy with each other so it could be quite a while before the Lib's do reform but at least we still have DPT and Babyshambles

'Nearly 100 per cent of music fans copy music illegally'

Poll reveals fans' downloading and copying habits

Tue 17 Jun, 2008

Comments (1)

I think music is evolving as a whole. We saw the emergance of gurilla gigs a few years ago, the re-emergance of DIY culture, warehouse raves becoming more popular again and so on. Not all of it is new, a lot has been done before but its goes to show that the way in which people view and interact with music will never go away, much of it was shocking at the time but now is just 'the way it is', downloading music is still quite new and it scares some people. Downloading music illegally is not such a problem really, people still buy cd's and people still pay for music on sites such as itunes. many people say they download songs first then buy the cd, it exposes people to far more bands than just listening to the radio and thats not to say the radio does not play good music, downloading is just quicker. Every year more bands emerge and have success and every year is always reffered to as 'a great year for music' ,downloading music helps keep up and coming bands alive. It's the rich successful bands who complain. On a lighter note, i recommend everyone watch the south park episode 'christian rock hard' and realise some things about illegal music downloads

Download headliners Kiss: 'Fans have killed the record industry'

Gene Simmonds says band won't release new songs until downloading stops

Tue 17 Jun, 2008

Comments (1)

We're like herpes"= irritating and hard to get rid of? Christ stop being so childish! You're rich already, ridiculously rich because of all your merchandise! I doubt Kiss would even notice the change in their income due to their records being downloaded due to the ammount of money they already have rolling in. They have said before in early interviews that they enjoy playing music but are all about the money and always were so i'm not suprised they're kicking up a fuss about free downloads. Times they are a'changing grandpa, get used to it

Lostprophets close Download in 'controversial' style

Welsh rockers preview new material at Donington

Sun 15 Jun, 2008

Comments (1)

Lostprophets first album all those years ago was really good in comparisson to so many other 'nu-metal' bands and they always seemed very down to earth and somewhat shy about fame in interviews. But as of the second album they've had an all too generic sound, become thoroughly arrogant and just very bland all round, shame really. I didn't even realise they were still going let alone at a level to be a headlining act.

Lethal Bizzle bottled at Download Festival

'We got set up' moans grime star

Sun 15 Jun, 2008

Comments (2)

I wonder if Doherty49 has ever been to glastonbury. Just in case for their information, it's big, very big and lots of bands play, thats one thing you should try and remember, LOTS of bands. If you have actually got the time and make the effort to go and bottle jay-Z then you obviously are only at glastonbury for that one reason. There is so so much you could be doing rather than that, for example exploring because whats that? its big! huge in fact! or perhaps go to one of the other stages seeing as there are so many of them and see another act. christ i can't even believe this jay-z thing is still going on, as Binstig said: grow up and realise glastonbury is called a festival of contemporary performing arts for a reason, not a rock festival, it isn't reading, leeds or download where it is so small that people do actually have the time to formulate petty plans to bottle people

Amy Winehouse's husband offers cash to beat up Pete Doherty – Tabloid Hell

Blake Fielder-Civil supposedly offered £20,000 to 'smash' the Babyshambles man

Wed 11 Jun, 2008

Comments (1)

Blake why are you in jail? Oh yeah because you can't control your temper and beat some one up. Getting someone else to do your dirty work doesn't make it any better. As much as i like the libertines music and the majority of babyshambles tunes, it seems that these celebrity heroin addicts (peter, amy, blake, although what did he ever do except marry amy?) have a deluded vision of themself in which they are a sharp dressed crime lord when in fact they are a bunch of scruffy, sweaty, dirty looking folk who only know those associated with the 'world of crime' because of their dealers. Blake has apparently been recorded saying 'it is big and it is clever' with reference to heroin, i hope he has an overdose and wakes up permanently damaged, then we'll see if its big and clever. On the other hand, this story about paying someone to beat up peter and the other story about him saying 'its big and clever' were both in the sun newspaper so its highly likely that both stories are completely false!

Prison cell pictures of Pete Doherty appear

British newspaper published camera phone pictures

Wed 16 Apr, 2008

Comments (1)

The sun have always hate a campaign on to get the general public to hate pete with exaggerated and often completely false stories so this was bound to happen. why it made the front page i have no idea, probably had no one to frame as a terrorist this week. I'm not saying he hasn't taken drugs at all in jail because its become quite common knowledge that its easier to get them inside rather than out, but to continue toprint bad stories making him out to be a monster yet again shows how evil The Sun is. I agree with nickjcray, they probably will do that and it will no doubt be a day of celebration for all that work at The Sun

i hate The Sun newspaper. It has an opinion of what a celebrity should be like and if anyone differs from it they set about ruining the persons life and making stories up about them then pass it off as something "a friend" has said
