Rage Against The Machine slam 'X Factor', Simon Cowell and swear live on radio

Band perform full version of 'Killing In The Name' in breakfast show

I think the songs and artists themselves are kind of irrelevant, isn't it about what they represent in this situation? On a different note I think Joe is doomed to fail, he clearly doesn't have any 'star quality'. He has one default setting: cute, and when he tries anything else he just looks awkward or camp. He really would clutter up the charts because at least Lady GaGa and Black Eyed Peas write their own songs so there's some degree of talent there, and Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke have something about them, but Joe McElderry = Gareth Gates.

Babyshambles unveil new BNP-bashing song at London show

Pete Doherty's band play six new songs at club show

Fri 06 Nov, 2009

Comments (1)

Doherty/Babyshambles missed their chance to make anything decent and now they just sound dated which would be a shame if he wasn't a huge cunt. Funny how now he's not on drugs anymore (I think?) no-one gives a fuck- except hardcore Liberteenies.

Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong leave record label

Band without a deal despite re-recording album

Thu 29 Oct, 2009

"It's not so much a kind of dropping thing, [but] we've definitely parted ways," he told NME.COM. "It's mutual vibes. We sat down and had a meeting."- Christ, where to start? So they recorded an album. It was shit and their record company told them to go an make something worth everyone's while. A year passes and they still haven't come up with anything good enough. If he's so full of ideas that he "hasn't even started" how comes they can't even scrape together enough songs to make an album? Joe Lean? Joe ... Shit more like.

Coldplay follow Oasis with Thursday album release (June 12)

Is 'Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends' the new 'Be Here Now'?

Thu 12 Jun, 2008

Comments (1)

On the XFM X-posure playback they were asked about why they were doing this and they appeared to not know it was coming out on a Thursday. So it wasn't smug Chris on his pile of money be arrogant, apparently EMI arranged it to bring it in line with other international release dates...or something.

Coldplay stream new album online

Fans can listen to 'Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends' in full

Fri 06 Jun, 2008

Comments (1)

I'll admit, Coldplay are my favourite band (although I don't really worship the ground they walk on, wouldn't que round the block for gig tickets, camp outside the Bakery, etc.). I've heard this record and I have to say...it's excellent. Parachutes and AROBTTH sound so naive in comparison, X&Y so bloated and unnecessary. Listen with an open mind (forget 'Fix You', Gwyneth, Chris's, often stupid, comments in interviews) and Viva... is more colourful, ambitious, exciting, expansive and intimate than anything they've done. It's not experimental in a Radiohead (who haven't pushed any boundaries since Kid A) way but it does have a markedly different sound to their other stuff. If you only check out one song, listen to '42'. It's crazy and Thom would kill for it.

Jay-Z confirmed to headline Glastonbury 2008

Michael Eavis says rapper will top Pyramid Stage

Sat 02 Feb, 2008

Comments (1)

Great news. Didn't even bother registering last year but this year, after hearing this, I definately will. Reading's more of a rock festival than Glasto so the reaction should be a bit different (hopefully) to what 50 Cent got. OK, maybe Jay-Z won't attract the NME crowd to the festival but with any luck he'll appeal to people who are bit more open-minded than the idiots saying he doesn't make 'proper' music. Anyway, no one "doesn't suit Glasto", that's the whole point of the festival and why it's different.
