John Lydon threatens to take newspapers to court

Sex Pistols singer says recent articles are an 'absolute offence'

This whole thing is a fine example of tabloid fuelled mass hysteria. The racist remark was made by one of John Lydon's entourage (i.e. not him - probably that John 'Rambo' Stevens bloke). Yet despite accurate reporting by NME and the BBC, readers have left comments condemning John Lydon as if he made the remarks. Worse still, this same stance has been made in reports by the less accurate press. If one of your acquaintances made a racist remark does that make you a racist? Clearly not, but try telling that to some people.
