Morrissey makes his live return at London's Royal Albert Hall

Singer even finds time to joke about his recent onstage collapse

Wed 28 Oct, 2009

Comments (1)

He was on great form - Although a little disappointed he only played for about an hour and ten minutes. Would rather he had postponed it and seen him for the full nigh on 2 hour show he usually plays. Great Show nevertheless

Thu 18 Jun, 2009

Oh No Angela McGregor, your son lost half a days education. How ever will you cope - Here's the alternative you silly bint, The police took no action and your son would have to come out of school and walk through tens of thousands of people, drinking, swearing, urinating etc etc. You would probably have had to leave about 1 o clock to get through the traffic as well - Oh, and why would you be OK if it was the Queen? Oasis are much more important that the Queen anyway!!

Personally i think on a musical front the bloke is a genius - Even if he is not your cup of tea, i think "Can't write, can't play, can't sing" is a ridulous comment. I have had the pleasure of spending time in his company on a few occasions and i think the bloke is a Legend and a true Gentleman. I think its all too easy for people who have never used drugs (me included) to just say 'he should stop doing them' - Drug abuse is an illness at worst or a serious weakness at best.

You are all entitled to your opinions... but you are all wrong. I vowed never to go to this corporate whore fest but seeing this line up i may reconsider. Oasis are the best band on the planet - The Killers, although admittedly are annoying, are a great festival band and with other acts such as Razorlight (who are the new Oasis in the fact that everyone hates them for no reason), The Specials and MGMT, it promises to be the best V Festival in years.

I agree with "Whatawasteoftime" - If people are silly enough to pay £60 for this single when they can buy the same song for 79p on iTunes then let them do it. Oasis' Noel Gallagher: 'Jay-Z wrong for Glasto'

The guitarist says hip-hop is 'wrong' for the British festival

Mon 14 Apr, 2008

Comments (1)

'Sounded' i dont think you always agree with Noel 100% considering he has stated on more than one occasion that Kings of Leon are the best live act around at the moment and play 'proper rock n roll music' - And i think we all know of Noel's love for The Verve.

The smaller Oasis gigs are amazing. I seen them on their mini tour a few years ago at The Astoria, Clapham Grand and The Coronet and they were unreal. Obviously these gigs arent as financially rewarding so they could stick a couple of Wembley Stadium gigs in with it. Lets face it, they are the greatest Rock n Roll band of a generation so they will sell out wherever they play as they always do. It is just brilliant news that they will be back playing live.

God Pete, when will you ever learn. He will get off with it anyway - At least im hoping he will. His solo show at Glastonbury last year was truely amazing, as were his solo shows at the Rhythm Factory recently. In fact, lets tell Jay-Z to sling his hook and get Pete Headlining.

Soundedd - "The Verve who will never be more than a one hit wonder" - Would that be Bittersweet Symphony that charted at Number 2 or would it be The Drugs Dont Work that got to number 1???? And it is obvious you have never had the pleasure of seeing Kings of Leon live either

Ok, so people are getting on their high horse about 3 Headliners and about a handful of other bands that have been announced so far. Last year some of the bands who played OTHER than the 3 headliners included Kasabian, The Fratellis, Bloc Party, The Magic Numbers, Amy Winehouse, Gogol Bordello, The Kooks, Paul Weller, Dirty Pretty Things, Guillemots, Kaiser Chiefs, Manic Street Preachers, Dame Shirley Bassey, Arcade Fire, Rufus Wainwright, The Coral, Super Furry Animals, Bright Eyes, Modest Mouse, The Cribs, Iggy And The Stooges, Editors, Maximo Park, Babyshambles, Klaxons, CSS, Biffy Clyro, The Long Blondes, The Chemical Brothers, The View, The Go! Team, The Rakes, Coldwar Kids, Sunshine Underground, The Enemy, Hot Chip, Maccabees, Hold Steady, Tokyo Police Club, The Twang, Pigeon Detectives, Gossip, Jamie T. People have to remember that there are still hundreds of bands to be announced and Glastonbury is about so much more than just the music anyway. Kings of Leon had one of the best albums last year and are an amazing live band and nobody can say that hearing Bittersweet Symphony, Lucky Man, Drugs Dont Work etc wont be amazing. If you dont like Jay-Z then watch someone else. Glastonbury is amazing and will be this year too.

Mon 03 Mar, 2008

They are right to keep The Libertines on the back burner for a while. Babyshambles are doing amazing things at the moment and Petes Solo gigs at Rhythm Factory last week were simply brilliant. Dirty Pretty Things new album is also out in the next couple of months so they are right to be doing their own things for the time being.

Thom Yorke: 'Can we go around by ship?'

Thu 03 Jan, 2008

Comments (1)

"the biggest environmental issue was not the band's output, but fans travelling to their shows" - Thats right Thom, carting you and your gear around to all corners of the earth is no environmental issue at all. Its the fan who travels about 20 miles down the road to see you thats the problem. How will we ever live with ourselves - You are musicians (in name only) - Get on with making music and let others concentrate on saving the planet.

Arcade Fire's Win Butler hit in face during gig

Is Halloween show band's last ever in Nottingham?

Thu 01 Nov, 2007

Comments (1)

Some idiot chucked something that some people said was a shoe and some said was a bottle. It hit Win full on in the face. He slamed the mic stand down and went to the front of the crowd. Soon after, he went off but came back on to finish the Power Out/Rebellion double. Someone then threw what looked like a red ball at him. He actually said something like "If one more thing gets thrown, Im outta here and we will never play Fucking Nottingham Again" They then came back out to play an amazing Intervention + Wake Up encore where Win got into the crowd and walked round the audience.
