Radiohead releasing new album 'The King Of Limbs' on Saturday (Feb 19)

New record is billed as a 'newspaper album'

Mon 14 Feb, 2011

It's an eight track album according to a slip on the Japan King of Limbs site (since removed). Seems a bit on the lean side after three and a half years, but I guess it's best to withhold judgement until we've heard it.

Rage Against The Machine slam 'X Factor', Simon Cowell and swear live on radio

Pomanda67, you've entirely missed the point. It's not about the type of music, it's the fact that it's the X Factor product having a monopoly on the Xmas number one spot. To say "I don't particularly like Simon Cowell, but I wouldn't buy a song just to spite him" is fair enough. But understand that there are enough people who feel strongly about this to want to buy the song. So why criticise them for it?

Cream's Jack Bruce: 'Fuck off, Led Zeppelin, you're crap'

Jack Bruce isn't impressed with Jimmy Page's guitar playing

Clapton is without doubt the single most overrated guitarist in history. Not just my thoughts, but the opinion of a whole raft of polls by guitar players in titles such as Guitar Magazine over the years.

Pffffft, NME start a campaign against eBay selling tout tickets? If only. NME won't rock the boat when eBay is an advertiser.

Jack White and Alicia Keys stream Bond theme online

Great music, terrible vocals. Should've gone with Joe Cornish's version. There are also some interesting Bond soundtrack artefacts that can be found on YouTube, most notably Alice Cooper's take on The Man With the Golden Gun. In the words of Alan Partridge: "Stop getting Bond wrong!!"

Reverend And The Makers' Jon McClure to quit music?

McClure says his next album will be his last

Tue 19 Aug, 2008

I'm no fan of Jon McClure (though he's always come across as a good bloke in interviews), but it does strike me as a sad indictment of the NME that it'll sneer at this guy for giving it the peace sign, and yet celebrate Pete Doherty. I appreciate the NME wants to be seen as a bit 'edgy'. But what's braver - being passionate about a message of peace in an age of apathy... or just get battered off your arse?

Your bias towards KOL is well documented on these boards though rubbersoul7. To the average music fan who favours neither KOL or Verve, the latter have the stronger catalogue. Although Forth sounds the weakest of the bunch.
