Josh Homme reveals why he worked with Arctic Monkeys

Plus 'Humbug' producer reveals album's 'weird' new direction

Wed 29 Jul, 2009

Comments (1)

getting these two guys especially Homme to produce them is a master stroke.I've loved all their albums so far and the new one is by far the best artistically.they've already well established themselves as great entertainers but now seem to be maturing and proving what great artists they are.those people hung up on the first album and it's catchiness need to widen their horizons and open themselves up a bit more musically and stop living in the past if they wish to keep up with the band and their work or even if they just want to start discovering there is a whole world of great and varied music out there to enjoy.or they could just keep the blinkers on and keep comparing everything to Oasis of course.

Fri 15 May, 2009

he has a point.all be it a moronic ill thought through point.but he needs to ask himself one question, what is worse the western media's portrayal of Mexico's coping with the swine flu epidemic or hi ghoulish and tasteless use of said viral outbreak which has claimed hundreds of lives to promote their new album?shouldn't expect any less from these self absorbed pretentious cockends.

Nicky Wire: 'I tried to get Manic Street Preachers to scrap Richey album'

Starsailor: 'We ruined Phil Spector's reputation' - Daily Gossip

The Kooks, Bono, Alex Turner – your music gossip stop

Wed 15 Apr, 2009

Comments (1)

say what you want about Phil Spector as a man he was, is and forever will be one of the greatest producers of all time.starsailors decent into mediocrity begun closely after they dismissed this bona fide genius and decided to ignore his input.to now try and boost their credibility and fame off the back of Spectors criminal conviction is not only a very low and desperate move it's also very ghoulish considering what he has been convicted of.if these idiots think people are going to see them as some kind of forward thinking visionaries who knew Spector was a violent crackpot and sacked him accordingly they are sorely mistaken.they are still the idiots who scuttled their own careers by sacking one of the true geniuses the music industry was lucky to have.

Tony Christie confirms himself for Glastonbury

The old-timer will play this year's festival

Mon 30 Mar, 2009

Comments (1)

Glastonbury is so huge and varied that the headliner acts for one single stage out of over a dozen stages aren't really that relevant in the grand scheme of things as if you don't like any of the acts on one of the stages you are virtually guaranteed there will be someone you want to see elsewhere.morons like these two who bitch and moan and whine about the headline acts of the main stages of festivals are just plain dumb if that is all they pay to go to festivals for.they are basically demanding their money back based on 2 or 3 announced acts out of what will be over 100 acts easily.if you don't like the headline acts on the pyramid stage then you still have the option of the headliners for the other stage, jazzworld stage, leftfield stage, john peel stage and several dance stages/tents all of these stages will have top artists that would quite easily grace the main stages of any other festivals.as for Tony Christie he is just gonna be a early afternoon singalong novelty acts and the festival should not be judged on such bookings, if that were the case then you best be prepared to cry like little bitches some more when the likes of Chas and Dave and Rolf Harris get announced.

Paul Weller, Gruff Rhys and Suggs campaign to save British pubs

Artists come out in force to help launch 'Save Our Pubs!'

Fri 19 Dec, 2008

Comments (1)

it's all well and good crying about it and saying what a travesty it is but it doesn't in any way deal with the real reasons behind the closure of drinking establishments at all it's just another group of celebrities jumping on a bandwagon and not actually doing anything about the situation what so ever.there are reasons people are drinking less and choosing to drink at home more rather than at increasingly expensive public houses and bleating on about communities focal points and places where bands formed will achieve fuck all and it's just a joke.the general public at large are dealing with an economic crisis, less jobs, less money, while the cost of drinking in these establishments steadily rises and the government put a halt on happy hours and cheap drinks promotions in an effort to curb this so called NEW trend called binge drinking.i for one still cannot really afford to go out drinking as much as i used to, it may be ok for these celebrities with time and money on their hands to sit about in pubs spending money like nobodies business but here in the real world those luxuries are slowly and steadily slipping away from the vast majority of the people on britain.so quite frankly paul weller and co can go fuck themselves or try and do something a bit more constructive for a cause they claim to be so behind.

Watch Sex Pistol John Lydon as the face of British butter

See the frontman's commercial efforts on NME.COM now

The Sex Pistols and John Lydon are the longest running joke in music history.even when Lydon sat on the stage of the stage of Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco and said those supposedly immortal words "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?" people still never got it.the fact is they were always just in in for the money, the fame and the spotlight and to do so under the guise of Punk flew in the face of everything punk was actually about. They were a Joke are a Joke and always will be a Joke but so long as there are angry teenagers in the world they will have a platform.
