i'm an american. its been my understanding that this man since the dawning of his career has been blitzed by the media. This is usually the point when you start hearing something about them over here. Absolutely amazing. The libertines did infact define the beginning of the century. They were completely authentic in all aspects. They didn't have a cloud over them like the strokes would have (in reference to their background). I'm not one to argue on web forums. Its rather juvenile from my point of view. I'll never see the man in concert. Though it would be fantastic, i'm not overly concerned with it. I don't care how often the man shoots crack or heroine. Thats his call. People argue about the goodness of babyshambles and compare them to DPT and all that shit...they're all good. They are bands from two people that DEFINED the beginning of an era. Look at all the bands around now. Look at all the idiots walking around in trilby's and skinny pants. Thank Pete for that and stop shooting the man down. What Noel and Liam were to people growing up in the 90s, Pete and Carl are to this new generation. Jail may do him some good. Maybe not. Its all up to him. If nothing else, I can see a 14 week prison stretch giving him a good few things to write about, and at the end of the day, isn't his music what we are all most concerned with?
