It's a musical award, and she won because she is an amazingly talented musician. Her private life is a separate entity and of course should not affect the decision - if it weren't for bloodthirsty tabloids reporting on every little move she makes, we wouldn't even know about it. I'm thrilled that she won.

Back to Black was made in 2006, well before Amy was a trainwreck for everyone to see. The music speaks for itself, everything else is a result of her success, not the other way around.

I love Rock n' Roll. And by Rock n' Roll I mean great fucken music. From Billy Holliday, to Arctic Monkeys, and everything in between. I have guilty pleasures like Alicia Keys, the new record by Linkin Park (well the singles played on the radio), Justin Timberlake (I think he made it, he's working with some of the best producers, gotta respect him for what he does), One Republic is great (the lyrics are dreamy for girls, but coming from a musician, me, its genius). But anyway, I love good music. When I was in 5th grade, my sister gave me "Appetite for Destruction" by Guns n' f'n Roses for Christmas. It changed my life, it sounds cheesey, but it was cheesey and a moment I will never forget. I was sitting in my living room all alone by the Christmas tree cause I don't like to open presents infront of people, but anyway, I saw the light. I owe my life to Guns n' Roses, to the extent that music means and can change your life, know what I mean? Anyway, I love music, and I'm rambling cause it's 4:30am and I'm fucked up right now, but whatever, you only live once.

Natalie Cole has shut the #@!& up. Leave Amy alone. She has talent. What she does on her own time is her business. These awards might help her. Quit being jealous Natalie!

She's talking nonsense. See my comic strip interpretation of Natalie's comments at Pop Strips Daily...

amy winehouse has more talent then most other people in modern music today, and she does deserve the credit!, just because its her first global album cant deminish the creativeness of the music. anyway, i cant name a Natalie Cole track off my head, jealousy's covering her words like thrush!

Natalie Cole is hypocritical talenteless althought her great voice. I neve belive Grammy would grant the great talents, remember that John Lennon never got one. I don't believe in prizes for music or movie to measure talent. But if this prize is for music, so that is it. This is not behaviour, markenting, political or whatever else. Althought I'm not Amy's fan she won them because she desever them. Natalie...search for good music and stop caring about other's life.

i agree with alot of what natalie sez. however amy is being recognised for her musical talent not her drug addiction. if you wait until she is completely clean and sober, that may never happen and then if she died and received it posthumously it would only be of comfort to those left not her. i say credit where it is due. she is currently taking positive steps to combat this addiction, she is not promoting it as a lifestyle choice. plus she is looking healthier and happier than she has in a long while, and i hope this time she manages to complete rehab and live a long healthy life where she will be able to attend the grammys or any other awards that want to honour her talent. if she falls off the wagon, get back on and dont give up giving up until you get there girl!

Natalie Cole is the last person I expected to say something like that. She was on drugs for ages and we all know that. Perhaps she is bitter that she was so doped up she wasn't fit for the industry, while Amy has managed to maintain some level of entertainment and achievement while going through her ordeal. Not to praise Amy for her behaviour, but she has done well to win so many grammy's and I hope she keeps it together!

'claiming that it is rewarding her bad behaviour.' - its not rewarding bad behaviour, its rewarding talent. she should stop bein so hypocritical and shut up. i bet she wouldnt be anywhere near as famous if it wasn't for her dad. 'Those of us who have been in the business long enough know the sacrifice it takes. You don't just get to do your drugs and go onstage and get rewarded.” ^^^^ but she did. so how can she say anything.
