Oasis brand Keane 'shit'

Noel Gallagher also reveals life threatening incident

Sat 04 Oct, 2008

Comments (1)

Dear Noel,To be "taken out of ones comfort zone" is a commonly used expression which means, basically, one is trying things one is not used to. I know the metaphorical use of "comfort" may have confused your poor brain, but that's not reason to kick out at Tom - he's perfectly harmless. If you don't know what something means, just ask. No-one is judging you. We're all friends here.Lots of love;Matthew :) x

Blogger who leaked tracks has been released on bail

Fri 29 Aug, 2008

Would this be the same Slash who hasn't recorded a semi-decent song since "November Rain"?And to be honest, even that was borderline...

Guns N' Roses' 'Chinese Democracy' set for exclusive release this year?

Long-awaited album could be out before 2009

Sat 27 Sep, 2008

Comments (1)

An Open Letter To Axl Rose,The funny thing is, after all that time, effort and money no-one actually gives a shit about 'Chinese Democracy'. Perhaps if you had released the album in 1995, when your band were still relevant someone might have bought it.Also, on a slightly lighter note, you look like a tit with dreadlocks - everyone knows you're going bald.

Nationwide Mercury Prize shortlist - your guide to the nominees

Who's who on the 2008 shortlist?

"You're a set of illiterate 15 year old ballbags who know nothing about anything. Textbook NME readers!"There should really be a dash before "Textbook NME readers!" because it's not actually a proper sentence. Unless you'd said "Thus you are all..." or "You are...". Alas, you didn't, and so I ask who are the illiterate ones here? I, a 16 year old with near perfect spelling and grammar, or you, a sad git who feels the desperate need to slag other people off on NME.com?

We Are Scientists think Rage Against The Machine are pretentious

New Yorkers say bands shouldn't get political

Tue 26 Aug, 2008

Comments (1)

yeah! what twats! Imagine having an opinion!!!He didn't slag their music, which in a band is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING. Rage make great music, but the politics side of things gets annoying. If I want to do something political I'll do it myself, I don't need a band to tell me what to do.

The Hold Steady: 'Radiohead have lost the plot'

Band criticise Oxford quintet's pay what you want plan

Sun 17 Aug, 2008

Comments (1)

Since both Radiohead and The Hold Steady are my favourite bands I'm kinda stuck with what to think on this one. On the one hand I totally disagree that Radiohead have "lost the plot" (In Rainbows is possible my favourite Radiohead record so far) on the other hand those of you criticizing the Hold Steady should actually try listening to the songs (the lyrics especially) before saying owt.

Lifter Puller - Soft Rock averages at £70 on the web. If the label rereleases that I promise I'll never download another record ever. But it's not gonna happen, so I'm going to continue to download obscure records that can't be found ANYWHERE else... ps, anyone know where I can get some Sweep The Leg, Johnny? I can't find any of their stuff instore or online :/

Download headliners Kiss: 'Fans have killed the record industry'

Gene Simmonds says band won't release new songs until downloading stops

Tue 17 Jun, 2008

Comments (1)

so, if I download, then kiss stop making music?is that meant to be a threat or a reward?music should not be regarded as an industry - it should be an art form, just as paintings or sculptures because it's just as important, if not more, culturally

The Kooks tell Isle Of Wight VIPs to 'Fuck off'

Luke Pritchard tells the festival guests where to stick it

Sun 15 Jun, 2008

Comments (1)

Does Luke realise that he's ever so slowly becoming a complete charicature of himself? He's not exactly a working class hero himself, is he?And what's wrong with the VIP area? Is it not "rock 'n' roll" to watch your favourite bands playing in comfort? These attemps to desperately impress the crowd are completely in vain. They're still not going to buy your albums, they still won't listen to your music. No matter how many VIP areas you invite to "fuck off" it wont sell you more albums - because your albums are shit.Damn, I didn't want to become one of these hateful twats that slag singers they don't like off on nme.com in comments, but some people just deserve it.

MP3 Digital Rights Management technology finished?

Napster is latest online store offering unrestricted songs

Tue 20 May, 2008

One day, all music will be legally free. The gig scene will flourish and the music "industry" will finally return to just being music. The "genteel arms dealers" (props to Thom Yorke for that one) will go back to dealing arms, and the streets will ring with the laughter of children. The world will be better then.

Everclear announce gig at Guantanamo Bay

The rockers will perform for US troops

Wed 14 May, 2008

Comments (1)

what about the folks in uniform on the other side of the fence?okay, so their orange jumpsuits aren't quite as stylish as US Army camo, but they need gigs too!on a more serious note, this is awful - as Lewis Jamieson said, by doing this the band are essentially condoning the imprisonment and torture of many innocent people. If the US government want, my band'll play Guantanamo too, we'll do a nice wee gig for all the "terrorists" they've got locked up there ;)

Emo music attacked over teen suicide

Genre blasted again after 13 year-old 'emo girl' commits suicide

Thu 08 May, 2008

Comments (1)

How many My Chemical Romance fans are there the world over? And how many commit suicide? It's a very small percentage (naturally I don't know it exactly, but you get where I'm coming from) of kids who kill themselves because of "emo" music.Anyway, what I'm saying is, you cannot blame a genre of music, no matter how much black they wear, for the tragic suicide of a young girl. It would appear there was a history of depression in this girl's storyGod, next you'll be blaming rap music for all the shootings... oh, hold on...p.s. - booicore; have you ever sat through a Kylie album? THAT is depressing...

Michael Eavis says rapper will top Pyramid Stage

Sat 02 Feb, 2008

The entire point of a festival is to get wasted. Who cares about the music. Jay-Z will make a fantastic Glasto headliner and anyone who disagrees can piss off back to their mediocre pub rock and souless commercial indie.

My Chemical Romance 'flatline'

Band send out cryptic message on website

Sun 23 Dec, 2007

I'm sure they're trying to make some sort of hilarious ironic message about global politics but really, do bands need to try so hard to be "cryptic" and "interesting"... it's getting kinda tiring. JUST TELL US WHAT YOU'RE UP TO!
