Is Avril Lavigne 'too sexy' for Malaysia?

Islamists urge cancellation of singer's show

Ever think that Malaysia has the right to be free of western pop culture? I'm not Islamic, but I believe all nations have a right to a culturual identity and to decide what's right for themselves. It's not about hiding their heads in the sand from what we consider "reality" (seeing sex symbols flaunt themselves on TV for the sake of entertainment - right, that's much better than trying to keep it out of your culture). It's about a nation that doesn't want any part of our Western culture, and they shouldn't have to deal with it if they don't want to. They have every right to decide who gets to perform in their country; Western influence is ruining their cultural identity, even if we deem it backwards.
