Blur defy illness to play 'last gig' at T In The Park

Graham Coxon races from hospital to play headline show

Sun 12 Jul, 2009

Comments (1)

i hope this is only the last gig of the summer. the comeback tour has been huge successul. being in the US, I haven't had an opportunity to see them live, but i do check out those recent videos on youtube and compare them to 10 years ago. These guys have really upped the gear and are better to watch than ever.i hope they are only taking a SHORT break and will start writing some new materials.Even if they won't ever make it to the states again, I hope one of their shows can be released on DVD.

Oasis' Noel Gallagher: 'I spent £1m on drugs and enjoyed every minute'

Guitarist has some harsh words for Coldplay's Chris Martin

Mon 06 Jul, 2009

1998, that's about when the band started going downhill.Suede also wrote their first album without substances influence, a new morning, which is also their worst.maybe drugs have a bit to do with creativity?

Fri 05 Jun, 2009

this is a class act considering they have completed the whole set for the fans. 70,000 x 38.80, we are talking about in excess of $2m here. I dunno how much of the proceeds would have gone to the band though,

Mogwai: 'Blur: are shite once again'

Scottish band slag off Damon Albarn and co once more

Fri 12 Dec, 2008

Comments (1)

how about Mogwai is Shite? Blur has been inventing new songs and have established themselves as something more than a britpop band with their last two offerings (13, TT).Mogwai? Rock Action and Young Team were classic. Mr. Beast and the one came out this year show they are losing the plot and i doubt they will ever regain that touch again.Feels like Mogwai is the Oasis in the post-rock genre to me.

Oasis' 'Dig Out Your Soul' a cert for Number One

Band enjoy massive first day album sales

Tue 07 Oct, 2008

Comments (1)

fairly speaking, album sales doesn't tell you much of how good or bad an album is. but it does says the band (in this case oasis), are (still) relevant.

Oasis brand Keane 'shit'

Noel Gallagher also reveals life threatening incident

Sat 04 Oct, 2008

Comments (1)

i dun agree with noel's habit of slamming every other bands out there, especially to a band like keane who aren't in the same ranks as his band. it will be really pathetic of noel if he anxiously sees keane as his competitor.but im really no fan of keane's neither. the first album had a couple of interesting tunes, but they didn't last long. the rest were just sleeping pills. and i've been too scared to try their 2nd and 3rd albums....

Pink beats Oasis to Number One

And Kings Of Leon remain top of the album chart

Sun 05 Oct, 2008

Comments (1)

sales don't really mean nothing these days. best selling albums and often not the best albums. so either way, even if it's oasis topping pink on the charts, i'd still say "so what!".amen to McNasty's comment. ppl really have to open their ears. there are so many interesting stuff outside Britain and the US.

Graham Coxon responds to Damon Albarn's claim that 'Blur is over'

'It's very complicated,' guitarist admits

Mon 22 Sep, 2008

Comments (1)

apparently blur is far from the top of damon's agenda, but i do think they will be back with one more 4-piece album before they call it a day, but the hiatus can be as long as that of the verve, kula shaker or portishead. if it is, we are actually half way through (Think Tank 2003) the waiting process.meanwhile, graham, how about one more solo albums? consider his last was 2 years ago which is long to his standard.honestly, i'd like to see damon bring his multi-talent back to blur who will continue to evolve from a musical standpoint

im not gonna judge a song on a 20-sec clip. and im not gonna judge an entire album on one song. but ever since Heathen Chemistry, everytime oasis puts out a new album there would be fans coming out saying the gallaghers are back to their best, which i can't really agree with. true, there had been a few great single tracks, but the albums were just ok to me.as a long time fan i will still purchase the album regardless, just to show my support. but deep down my heart i dun expect much out of the band in 2008

they should give it a lot one more shot. it will be a shame if they didn't because from leisure to 13 (or even think tank) these lads have grown up and evolved so much in their music, unlike oasis who never really made a ground-breaking album since the last decade; and they are much more appealing to me than the whole bunch of post-punkers or boring bands who are out on the scene....so please damon!
