I can't see how playing in front of an artist's fans can be considered controversial. Israel is one of the most anglophilic countries in the world. Its citizens are traveling across the globe to attend British acts and CDs of British artists are selling better than CDs of local artists. I think that artists should be obligated to perform in countries where they have such devoted fans, regardless of any political agenda.
