The Edge: delaying release will take U2 album 'to next level'

Plus guitarist praises Mercury Prize winners Elbow

Wed 10 Sep, 2008

Comments (1)

I refuse to believe that there is anyone out there who genuinely in their heart of hearts can turn around and say U2 are a poor band. Anyone who says it is on a wind-up. Yes we all know Bono is a bell-end. But they are 32 years in the business. Still the original four members. Songs spanning the 32 years like like Bad, With or Without You, Even Better than the Real Thing, Pride, When Love Comes to Town, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Desire, City of Blinding Lights, New Years Day, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Where the Streets Have No Name, Vertigo. Crap band yeah? Ha ha ha ha. Please. End of discussion.

Elbow: 'Mercury win is best thing that's ever happened to us'

Guy Garvey overawed by Mercury Music Prize victory

Tue 09 Sep, 2008

Comments (1)

I am so happy Elbow have got their just reward. I watched the awards on BBC and they seemed so genuinely overwhelmed to win. It meant more to them than it would have to any of the other nominees I believe, which even discounting the brilliance of the album, was enough to leave me very pleased that they picked up the prize. Well done Elbow. Delighted for you.

Certainly not Estelle or The Last Shadow Puppets and Adele to a lesser extent. I think Elbow deserve it. British Sea Power if not them.

Keane's Tom Chaplin vows never to return to drink and drugs

Singer says the factors that sent him to rehab are behind him

Fri 05 Sep, 2008

To the 2nd earl of Rochester as comment above: I very rarely comment on articles myself on here. I personally have no interest in Tom Chaplin. I certainly have no desire to ever listen to Keane. But to say you went to the trouble to log in and type what you did above makes me think I should do the same. Just so I can tell you that you are a very sad and LITTLE person. And I wont be commenting any further whether you chose to respond or not. If you are say 15 years old or younger then maybe I will excuse you. That is all. Bye !!!!!!!!

To wellduhobviously. Did you actually even listen to 'How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb'? If you did you must have very strange taste in music. It was fantastic and easily their best album since 'Achtung Baby'.

If Atlantic Record execs are planning on getting Estelles teeth straightened as stated above, surely they could push the boat out and give the girl a face-transplant. Would do her the world of good.

Amy Winehouse laughs about Pete Doherty's jail term – Tabloid Hell

The singer is amused by the Babyshambles man's incarceration

Thu 10 Apr, 2008

Comments (1)

Lets face it. A lot of people laughed when they heard the news. I can just see him in his little cell now. Ha ha ha ha. About time. I do hope he gets better though. This might be the start of it. The longer they leave him in there, the more chance he will have to reflect. Keep him in the full 14 weeks. Give him a shock.

Pete Doherty jailed for 14 weeks

Spokesperson tells NME.COM he's 'looking at appeal'

Tue 08 Apr, 2008

Comments (1)

Big wow he is going for a spell in jail. Deserves longer if anything. Obviously nobody can account for peoples tastes and every person is entitled to their own opinion but I can't believe people are blinded by his image as a "rock star". Glastonbury would be none the poorer for his non appearance. Perhaps if he gets clean his performances will improve and songs will consistently hit higher levels. He creates the odd gem here and there, but for the most part is highly over-rated.
