Limited number of tickets up for grabs
Mon 07 Apr, 2008
This year it would appear that anybody who wishes to go, will be able to go, and that must surely be a good thing.I know of people who didn't bother registering this year as they've been so fed up trying to get a ticket, and ultimately failing, in previous years. That combined with the poor headliners has to have contributed to the lower take up of tickets. However, i'm not sure why everyone is moaning. I think the fact that the festival hasn't sold out in a couple of hours is fantasic. I've not been since 2003 due to the high demand for tickets giving continuous engaged tones on the phones and 'webpage busy' messages on the internet. This year myself and 2 mates who have also previously failed to get tickets are sorted and cannot wait.As for the poor quality of headliners, then i have to agree, but i've always found the best glastonbury experiences are found when exploring the many other fields and stages, away from the majority. I hardly spend any time at the main stage field, and probably will not do so again this year.

Fans snap up 5,000 tickets to see the Babyshambles front-man play solo

What is wrong with these people. The talentless fuckwit shouldn't even sell out the Albert Hall toilets but due to constant media overload (of which NME are a prime culprit) people follow like braindead sheep.
Hopefully he'll shove all the profit into his veins and disappear from this earth sooner rather than later (but then he'd become a Kurt Conbain type marter).

I'm glad they've announced the Headliners early this year. Perhaps not so many will want to go now they know the crap that's there - more chance of a ticket for me.

Fantastic - another demoralising Sunday morning of constant engaged tones and busy websites. Why haven't the organisers followed the lead of the Led Zeppelin gig and done a random ballot. Exactly the same chance of getting a ticket but without the hassle of being glued to the phone and keyboard for 3 pointless hours before finding out on some news channel that all the tickets have gone.

Cheers for the LMHR cd2 download, but why download it as one single mp3 file - no way of playing individual tracks !!!

Fans have one in 50 chance of getting into reformation show
Wed 19 Sep, 2007
As each applicant can buy 2 tickets, effectively making it 10,000 applications for the 20,000 seats, then punters have a 1 in 100 chance of getting a ticket, and not a 1 in 50 as you suggest in your article.
Basic maths.
