I don't think that My Chemical Romance are deliberately encouraging people to commit suicide/self harm but I think that their music often appeals to younger people who might read more into their lyrics than they originally intended, and often some people who like MCR might be people who the whole (I use this word loosely) "emo" image appeals to and often think that to be part of this sub culture have to do stuff like wear black eyeliner and self harm, so maybe they alter their image to look "emo" and start self harming to appear "emo" and Listen to MCR because its "emo". Which means that the problem might not be "emo" music, but the fact that young people feel as if they have fit in to cliques, and unfortunately there is very little anyone can do to stop this. Which is quite sad really.
