Bjork festival cancellation 'not due to politics'

EXIT festival boss claims political blast had nothing to do with cancellation

If Bojan Boscovic did send an e-mail to that effect, having been to Exit festival twice in 2006 & 07 i can totally understand his sentiment. Personal opinions aside. There was a definite tension between the locals and the british contingent in 2007 that wasnt there in 2006, most probably due to the increased number of brits at the festival, some shabby behaviour on their part, a very small minority of course. If any pro west pro Kosovo stances were taken on stage i think things could boil over and ruin the atmosphere or worse. The festival is a celebration of the end of old tensions in the region, not to stir new ones! If the Serbs chose to use the limelight of the festival to make a statement on Kosovo then fair enough, it's their festival their country and their issue, for an outsider to publicly stir would just be rude!
