I dont like MCR, lets get that straight. But I love music, and I know that there are people who love their music, as much as I love my favorite bands music. The thing I hate is that music is an easy target. Any time something happens, if there is even the slightest musical connotation, then there is an easy scapegoat. A goth does something, its because of their music- the devil has brought it on. A punk does something - they are listening to the sounds of rebellion. Heck some even listen to the devil if played backwards! In all seriousness, This girl was obviously troubled, and music is the easy way out for parents/people who should have took an interest in a 13 year olds life. Its always been a way of absolving all blame from people who could have helped: the music did it! the same music that helps many people get over their troublesI wish people could take responsibililty for each other and realise that music can help, not kill.
