Getting real tired reading countless articles of rappers and hip hop artists acting immature and being unable to handle any time of criticism. Geeesh....

Interpol's Carlos Dengler quits the band

Bassist to replaced by 'illustrious players'

Mon 10 May, 2010

Well needless to say I am quite gutted by this news. It was Carlos D and his amazing skill which caught my ear and made me a fan. I am looking very forward to #4 however I don't think I will go way out of my way to see them live. It will not be the same without Carlos.

Pete Doherty charged with heroin possession after court appearance

Singer must appear at Gloucester Magistrates court next month

Tue 22 Dec, 2009

Comments (1)

I've followed Pete since 2002 with The Libs. I have to agree with everyone else that clicking onto NME and reading about the latest arrest is getting a bit tired. I can't really follow this guy anymore because it is such a huge risk buying tickets and flying out (I live in the US but have friends in the UK) if Pete may not show up due to an arrest or illness.C'mon Pete! For fucksake man you are now 30 and you have a kid to boot. Time to get off and grow up. If you can't do it for yourself, at least do it for your son.

Libertines Pete Doherty and Carl Barat reunite for Fashion Week

Duo play live together in London

Thu 18 Sep, 2008

Comments (1)

Pete and Carl should just do a proper Libs reunion. If John isn't interested and still involved with Yeti, get Drew on bass (Gary must be on drums). I agree with Pete2ndBest: Babyshambles are ok, but it just glosses over Pete's talent and DPT (sorry Carl) is really not good at all. Pete and Carl were just magical together. Even the Libs' second album is way better than the two records DPT and Babyshambles had released. C'mon Pete and Carl! What are you boys waiting for?!

its_rudmentary: no need to dis anyone here if they like The Killers. Everyone is entitled to like different things. If you do not like The Killers, that's fine. However if you dislike this band so much, don't waste your time in reading and posting about the band and lay off on those who like The Killers.

Kanye West to perform at MTV Awards

Singer swore last year he'd never return

Thu 04 Sep, 2008

Comments (1)

MTV is no longer "music television". MTV stopped the music over 10 years ago when it decided to choose reality tv and shit pop and even shittier hip hop over music. For MTV to continue producing and doing the VMA's is one of the biggest jokes in the music industry.

Give Brit a break. Her popularity is not her fault. If you despise Ms. Spears, blame the douche bags who signed her to a record contract and the papps who follow her and her family around.

Russell Brand gets political at VMAs

British comedian shakes things up

Mon 08 Sep, 2008

Comments (1)

While I agree w/Russell Brand's comments with respect to GW Bush, to insinuate that people not voting for Barak Obama are racist is just ridiculous and wrong. People should be encourage in voting for the candidate they feel would do the best by the US, not based on the color of the skin. Telling non-black people that not voting for Obama means that they are racist is crossing the line. Same goes for voting for McCain just because he is caucasion. As far as a non citizen telling an Amercian audience in who to vote for, I don't think you Brits would take too kindly say Chris Rock (a very brillant, politcal American comedian) would tell a British audience in who to vote for as PM. Sorry Russell...you were way out of line last night.

'Nearly 100 per cent of music fans copy music illegally'

Poll reveals fans' downloading and copying habits

Tue 17 Jun, 2008

Comments (1)

I have to agree with andyc--it's the musicians who suffer from illegal downloading, not these big record companies. Besides, more and more big name artists such as Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Prodigy, and Oasis are opting in signing with indie labels or putting out their own music to side step these evil empires. So as far as the thought in thinking that you are giving the finger to these large labels by not paying for music guess again, it is ultimately the artist that suffers. Labels are known to drop musicians from contract if the artist does not meet any benchmark sales.I'm not sure if it is a generation thing going on but I am 30 y/o and I never had any desire to illegally download. I gladly support the musicians I respect and I am fan of in purchasing CD's and/or legitimately downloading the songs. Why would I help a good artist possibly get cut from a label or better, not get compensated for their hard work and time by not purchasing their work?

Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's ashes stolen

Singer's remains taken from Courtney Love's home

Sun 01 Jun, 2008

Comments (1)

Not for anything but what was Courtney doing with the ashes kept in such an unsafe place? I read several interviews given by Courtney in the past which she gave details in where Kurt's cremains were kept in her home. Why give such details about those type of things? I don't walk down the street telling people that I have a lot of money in my wallet, it's the same thing.I do wish whoever took the ashes would do the right thing and just return them to the family.

Oasis' Noel Gallagher: 'Jay-Z wrong for Glasto'

The guitarist says hip-hop is 'wrong' for the British festival

Mon 14 Apr, 2008

Comments (1)

Wait a minute. How is Noel a racist? The dude is entitled to his opinion about Jay Z headlining Glasto and that's it. Any commentary about Jay Z was purely done from another artists point of view. I'm not a huge fan of Noel, but I have to agree with him. Jay Z is not a good choice in headlining a traditionally rock act festival. Now don't get me wrong: I do think Jay Z has talent, but there are few Hip Hop acts that are fierce and interesting to watch live and as good as he is on record, Jay Z is pretty boring live (and yes I saw Jay Z in concert).

Michael Eavis to help Jay-Z overcome fear of Glastonbury crowd

Festival boss will personally introduce the rapper onstage

Fri 04 Apr, 2008

Comments (1)

While I am not a huge fan of hip hop, I think Jay Z will do just fine at Glasto as Jay Z is not your typical rapper (i.e. 50 Cent, The Game, Lil' Wayne, etc.). Jay Z is a mighty fine beat and rhyme master. However hopefully w/Jay Z headline, it's not a sign of things to come with future festivals. Hip Hop in general has ruined the American music industry. It is so bad in the States that Hip Hop is like the only genre of music which exists and there are a lot of talented bands that are not getting a fair shake in being heard.
