well my friend you would have been pleasantly surprised watching the set and see how good it was. Plus with Wayne Carson singing "Always on my mind" which he originally composed for Brenda Lee, Rosie Vannier from Rosie and the Goldbug doing "After the Goldrush", not to forget Billy Block from Nashville who added enthusiasm to the proceedings. Alabama Song was a great performance by Carl Barat, so was Pretty Vacant with Glen Matlock on Les Paul and Jon McClure on vocals ; Brett Anderson and the JD Silver Coronet Set did a kick-ass rendition of Suede's Killling of a Flashboy - and the finale "Venus in Furs" was fantastic. Oh and not to forget that Elie Argiros, Rosie Langley and Edie Langley were great too, how can anyone forget their strings on One Fine Day by Elbow. I give you my word, that was a great gig and if I were you, I would give all these artists another listen.

Emo to be made illegal in Russia?

New laws planned to stop 'dangerous teen trends'

Wed 23 Jul, 2008

Whatever you think of emo, such legislation would limit the freedom of Russian teenagers. The example of what's going on n Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, is worrying and indeed the protesters are right by saying: "A Totalitarian State Encourages Stupidity". and I also agree with the slogan: ""Expressing psychological emotions is not forbidden by law." because if the regime is worried about people discussing and expressing emotions then logically they can ban theatre, literature, classical music as well. I don't see why emo is emotionally worse than Swan Lake or any classical story where there is death and/or suicide.

Ex-Suede singer Brett Anderson announces new solo album

'Wilderness' will be available as a USB stick next month

I think this is going to be a very good album judging from his recent youtube video - He's good at the piano so the minimal set up will probably work well. I also think it's a great idea that the fans who are going to the gig will have a recording of the album.
