AC/DC - Flick of the Switch: Wikipedia Album Entry

Flick of the Switch is the ninth album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC, recorded shortly after their European Tour at the beginning of 1983. The album was originally released in the United States on August 15, 1983. The album was self-produced by AC/DC and reached #4 in UK and #15 in the US. Though considered a disappointment when released, the album is today praised by many fans for its rawness and energy, and was certified platinum by the RIAA.

After problems with rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, drummer Phil Rudd was fired midway through the recording sessions, although he had completed his drum parts. He was eventually replaced by future Dio drummer Simon Wright. Wright appeared in the videos for "Flick of the Switch", "Nervous Shakedown" and Guns For Hire[citation needed]. He was also on the tour for the album, and noted in the pro-shot video recordings of that tour. Rudd, meanwhile, eventually returned to the band in 1994 and appeared on the band's 1995 album Ballbreaker.

The album was re-released in 2003 as part of the AC/DC Remasters series.

AC/DC - Nervous Shakedown Lyrics

"Freeze", said the man, cruisin' the beat

"You get your hands up, spread your feet"

"Don't you move an inch", I heard him say

"Or you'll be doin' time till the judgment day"

And he said:

"Don't tell me no lies, give me alibi's"

"'cause if you cross my path you've been doing life"

It's a dirty lie

It's a shakedown -- and it's a nervous shakedown

A nervous shakedown -- another nervous shakedown

"Take you dime" said the man, "you can make one call"

And get a one-way ticket to the County Hall

Well the judge looked high and I looked low

And when he smiled at me it was a one-man show

He said:

"Two to five the jury decides"

"Double parole if you survive"

It's a dirty lie

It's a shakedown -- and it's a nervous shakedown

A nervous shakedown -- another nervous shakedown

Law is gonna get you this time And throw away the key
