The band has supported Amy Winehouse, Polytechnic, Fields, Snow Patrol, The Spinto Band, and Crowded House, and was handpicked by Manic Street Preachers as their support band for their December 2007 tour. James Dean Bradfield, lead singer/guitarist of Manic Street Preachers, said that Thirst for Romance was his favorite album of 2007. In September 2007, Cherry Ghost was nominated for "best new act" in the 2007 Q Awards, although they lost to the Coventry-based band The Enemy.
In 2008, Cherry Ghost won an Ivor Novello Award for "People Help the People" in the category of Best Contemporary Song.
