ctrl-alt-del Biography

Ctrl-Alt-Del is an alternative rock band from Poland.

The band was created in 2002 in Wroclaw, Poland. In 2005 the band released its debut album, ctrl-alt-del, which was recorded in Fonoplastykon studios with the producer Marcin Bors. The band has ranked third in the European alternative band contest Innovation Rocks in Munich, Germany.

After many talks with record labels the band decided to release their first album entirely on their own. This self-produced release received a lot of attention in Poland, and then in other countries. One of the songs, Manchild ranked 17th in the alternative rock genre at Garageband. Also the songs Stepping Stone and Sound Machine were used in a play by Lukasz Wylezalek "Dzikuska", which was broadcast on the national Polish Television Channel.

The band is widely known in alternative circles in Poland. It has reached top ranks in regional charts in Wroclaw. Currently the band is working on their second album, which they hope to release by the end of 2006.

The band plays modern rock music with overdriven guitars, heavy bass and drums but also a lot of electronic sounds. This style is reflected in the band name which is designed to refer to modern, computerized music. The band motto is "restart your life with ctrl-alt-del".

The vocalist, Selfid is often compared to Mike Patton and David Bowie.
