'Your demo is excellent' - John Peel

'Definitely ones to watch' - Steve Lamacq

'One of those, ah a demo, oh, wow, jaw dropping moments!' - Kerrang! Radio

It was a mere ten months ago that Nex first unleashed their frenetic live show on an amazed audience. Since then, they have gigged throughout the North, including headlining slots at the prestigious Bradford Rio and Leeds Cockpit venues.

An appearance at Radio One's OneLive week in Nottingham followed, and this led to the band meeting up with John Peel and Joe Harland (Steve Lamacq's producer) who both gave the demo a very positive review.

The band have played support slots with a couple of signed acts, getting a great reception each time, and built a strong local following culminating in a headlining hometown show in front of 450 people.

The band has been receiving airplay on Radio One (who have added Nex to the Onemusic site), and Kerrang! Radio where the demo was given the accolade 'Demo of the Week'. In addition to this, the HTML Flash website has had an ascending number of hits and the band have received CD requests from all around the world.

The band are determined and incredibly committed, yet it is the music that really grabs the attention of everyone who comes into contact with the band. Taking complex yet solid rhythms and driving bass-lines as a foundation, Nex play a whirlwind mix of hard rock, punk and metal, without sacrificing melody or originality.

Making sure that the focus is on good songs, Nex have created a stunning and unique sound, and a live set to complement this. Sick and tired of seeing bands pigeon-holed into a certain genre, they have ensured that hearing their music is an eclectic experience where you never know what to expect.

Every member contributes an element to the Nex sound, from Ed Dickinson's versatile vocals and Mike Garlick's dynamic drumming, to Chris Kiernan's multi-layered guitar work and the note-perfect bass lines laid down by the enigmatic being known only as 'The Professional'. Despite having an average age of 19, they make a sound unlike any other, as Northern audiences who have seen them over the past few months will confirm.

The future looks bright for Nex. With their debut album due in July and consistently furious live performance they are set to take your stereo by storm.
