NME Artists

Nosound was a one-man studio project and now a band, started late 2003 by Giancarlo Erra and based in Rome (Italy). Music is evocative and intense, with personal songwriting. Influences go from Pink Floyd to Brian Eno, from Porcupine Tree to Fripp Soundscapes, passing through rock, electronic/ambient and postrock. A full lenght album was recorded during 2004 at Nosound own studio, plus an extra DVD with original video and audio contents. An official release of the full work was released the first quarter of 2005, a DVD with unedited material was then released in April 2006 and a new album is underway for the 2007, featuring important collaborations like Tim Bowness (from No-Man). The debut album Sol29 was released on 7th of March 2005, on Nosound own label and sold through this website and with the precious support of several distributors around Europe. Like all forthcoming official releases it was professionally printed and worldwide distributed on Burning Shed, Cd-Services, Eclipsed, Musea etc..). In the first month since release nearly 500 copies were sold, an incredible success that led now to a third reprinting of the album and a total of more than 2000 copies sold. The name is now growing day by day on websites, magazines, forums and words of mouth across Europe and other countries, and a new album called Lightdark is due to release for the start of 2008. Nosound Biography

Nosound is an Italian progressive rock band that started as a vision by Giancarlo Erra. All of the early recordings were composed, played, produced, engineered, and released by Erra. As time passed, this music became more popular and the demand for live performances increased. Giancarlo then assembled a band of gifted musicians who would eventually become full time members to play the music of Nosound. The band is noted for playing music in several different genres including progressive rock, post rock, and ambient music.

Nosound has been influenced by artists such as Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, No-Man, Arvo Part, Brian Eno, and Genesis.

Two of the band's albums won the Italian Progressive Music Awards Best Recording awards:
