His most acclaimed album was his debut The Nine Yards in 1992, which was certified gold by the RIAA. Paperboy's sophomore effort City to City (1996) spawned ""P's Cure". Eight years later, his third studio album The Love Never Dies was released.
On June 13, 2007 Mitchell Johnson aka Paperboy was arrested for allegedly selling marijuana. He was pulled over in a 1990 Honda Accord, which police had under surveillance for several weeks.
He is currently signed to Indie label TTL Records and released his latest album The New News. The album consist of a new version of the Ditty, Money Featuring Krazie Bone, Dat Boy Featuring Slim Thug, The Album also has features from E-40. The New News was Mostly produced by legendary producers such as Poli Paul.
