The Blue Aeroplanes Biography
The Blue Aeroplanes are an English rock group based in Bristol, the mainstays of which: Gerard Langley, brother John Langley and Wojtek Dmochowski originate from the earlier New Wave "Art band" Art Objects (1978-81). The Blue Aeroplanes first album 'Bop Art' released in 1983, contains material that was considered for a follow up to Art Objects only album, 'Bagpipe Music'. Gerard Langley's poetic lyrics (largely spoken) were combined with a heavily guitar-centric band to produce albums such as Swagger, Tolerance, and Beatsongs. After Cavaliers/Roundheads was released in 2000 they had a lengthy break before re-releasing Swagger as a 2-CD deluxe version in January 2006 and announcing a new album Altitude due in spring 2007.
