The Courteeners - St. Jude: Wikipedia Album Entry
St. Jude is the debut album by british indie rock band The Courteeners, which was released on 7 April 2008. There is also a special edition album which includes a second disc of acoustic versions of songs which feature on the actual album. Though the album was received to average reviews from critics, the album has become somewhat a cult success though many fans are more favorable to the versions of songs seen on Here Come The Young Men EP and various other demos. In support of the album the band embarked on a European tour. The album passed its 100,000th sale the same week follow-up Falcon was released.

I'm not going to sit here and lie and list all the many ways
About how I will supposedly love you till the end of days
Because I think that we both know in twenty-eight and a half years' time
That I won't be yours and you probably won't be mine
She tried to peel me off the pavement
Tried to insinuate sometimes
I am in danger of going too far
Asked me would I like to go for tea and toast
Everyones saying that your here for me,
But your here for them,
If wasn't for me, if it wasn't for me,
You wouldn't even know them.
Is that all that matters anymore?
Who happened to like that band first?
And who likes them more?
You've spent too much time sat in your bedroom
On your PC, are you sure that you couldn't
Have found the time?
Swallowed your pride and fitted to jealousy
How come you are always off your head
And yet you still end up in your bed
With some mint blonde I've never seen before
And you get away with kicking her face first out of your front door
I loved you, I still do,
I probably always will do.
I left home and then phoned to see if you like to dance.
The walk home from barbecue is very long when i'm walking with you
The sun is coming up, and it is coming to light
that me and you were never that tight
So just because I use salty phrases and I go through stages
Where I neglect endeavor does it mean I'm not clever?
No I don't think so
four years and twenty two shades of blonde
is all that seperated us,
why couldn't we have carried on?
we could have got married,
Your club is full of over rated, dehydrated, goggled eyed girls,
And their trying to stare at me, but their eyes are rattling and theyâre struggling to see
And she canât stand still because of sixteen pills that
The temptation is all too great
To know it's gone and it's all too late
I tried and I tried and but I never applied
To any of the morals that I wish I had
