If the summer of 2005 was your ‘mellowest’ to date, the Magic Numbers probably had something to do with it. Two parts Beach Boys, one part Mamas and Papas, a dash of McCartney and a pinch of Leonard Cohen – all slow-baked under the mellow Trinidad sun – the Magic Numbers are undeniably the happiest band in music, their self-titled debut album was nominated for the 2005 Mercury Music Prize.
